Then Oregon State wouldn't be in his top 3 either; seeing that Craig Rob is the coach/first bro-in-law.

Goodman reporting that Oregon State, Florida and Ohio State remain his top 3.

Gotta think Matta is going to land him between these three schools.

I can't remember where I read it, might have just been message board chatter, but I heard somewhere that he was leaning toward the Gators.

I also heard that florida leads. Based on the most recent data those are the 3 schools who have offered and we apparently haven't. So it makes sense those are his top 3.

If it's true that we haven't offered, I don't know what to say...
Florida seems more likely now that Anthony Davis has apparently picked Kentucky...there were rumors Davis and Thompson might be a package to Ohio State.

Would the kid be insulted if GU offered now? seeing the Dawson is off the board.

Scout video of Thompson, says Oregon State, Florida and Ohio State are his top 3 in no particular order. Said Kansas and Georgetown round out his top 5, but they are newer to his recruitment and he doesn't know the staffs or the programs as well as his top 3, where he's already taken unofficial visits. Says he will make a decision by the early signing period.

Chicago Sun Times indicates Hoyas may now be in Thompson's top 3, with an official visit lined up. This is huge news, he's the recruit left on the 2011 board that I'd most want to be a Hoya (then again, there aren't many top recruits left on the 2011 board at this point)... blogs.suntimes.com/hoopsreport/

Great find, boya. If OSU is indeed out of the picture, I think we have a fighting chance vs. Florida and Oregon State. Come on JTIII!

Sam would be the perfect fit. Slide Hollis to the 2, and have markel run the point.

TFWIW - last week a so-called Florida insider on the Rivals board said that the Gators have really backed off in their recruitment of Thompson. Doesn't think Thompson will end up at Florida or Ohio St.

Have we offered? If not, give him a scholarship.

Florida just picked up a commitment from 2012 wing Michael Frazier...hope that haves a positive impact on our chances for Thompson. Between Bradley Beal in 2011 and Frazier in 2012, would seem that Florida has two wing studs already in the fold for the next few years.

Thanks, HSB. Good to know he has an offer and that he will commit soon rather than 2nd semester... Sam, you would be a great fit at GU.
Btw, who's setting up Sam's visit to the White House?

I don't want to get my hopes up but we could have a spate of really good news if we get Sam and Hopkins committing soon. And if Chol commits we'd have a good class even by our earlier standards.

Fingers crossed on Sammy. That would be a sweet signing. But I'm not encouraged that OSU is still in the picture. Matta generally gets whoever he wants.

Ohio State always brings in heavy visitors for a FB weekend--and it'll be a fun visit for Sam--they also will have Mikael Hopkins there and tried to get Rodney Hood to go there as well--but think he's visiting elsewhere that weekend.
Having CFB on campus is great--but let's face it--CBB is what guys are going to school for and if Sam chooses Ohio State--it'll be for basketball reasons.
