O'Bryant lists seven schools in his latest Scout interview: Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Kansas, Kentucky, LSU, Georgia Tech, and Georgetown. Says he will narrow down to five in early August. mississippistate.scout.com/2/984405.html

If JO'B is cutting down to five then it might not be good for GTown. I would guess that UK, KU, MSU, and Ole Miss would be locks. So that if leave LSU, GTown, and GT fighting it out for the last spot. Hopefully having his lead recruiter on staff from MSU will help. In the say way that it hurt us with Goodman. Man I hope that my assumptions are wrong.............

After watching Jordan Goodman for 5 games this past week---Cox/Rutgers can have him--it's not a big loss at all. Too inconsistent and doesn't care enough on the court.
I expect Hoyas to make the final 5 for JOB--but it's going to be a battle to get him. Hoyas vs Dirty South??

From Rivals article of Nike Global Challenge:
"Christmas - apparently stricken by a 48-hour case of the hacks - has thus far been a no-show in the Battle of the Bigs, barely netting more points (11) than personal fouls (10) after two games. And with Amir Williams of Detroit (Mich.) Country Day and Anthony Davis both felled by injuries on Day 2 - Davis with an ankle sprain and Williams with a mild concussion - USA West center Johnny O'Bryant of Cleveland (Miss.) East Side has emerged as the tournament's most formidable big man.
Johnny O'Bryant - he of the Chris Bosh-meets-KRS-One dreadlocks - has dropped back-to-back double-doubles on France (20 points, 11 rebounds) and All-Asia (17 and 12). After garnering upwards of 20 scholarship offers (including from Kansas, Kentucky, Georgetown and ? Harvard), The Notorious J.O.B. (Rivals No. 36) said his list has been narrowed to five, though he declined to elaborate on which schools have made the cut."

From ESPN's coverage of Nike Global Challenge:
"The two most consistent players for USA West were 6-8 Johnny O'Bryant (Cleveland, Miss./East Side) and 6-2 Nick Johnson (Henderson, Nev./Findlay Prep).
O'Bryant outplayed Rakeem Christmas (Bryn Athyn, Pa./New Church Boys Academy) by overpowering him in the paint area. Christmas had some impressive blocks and finishes, but O'Bryant played at a much higher level in terms of effort and production."

And we're cut off another list. His new list is Maryland, Miami, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Georgia Tech, Alabama and LSU. Don't understand MD and Miami making it and not us or Kentucky. Is he afraid to play at a real program?

So he cut the 3 best programs on his last list: Georgetown, kansas, and kentucky and replaced them with Maryland, Miami, and Alabama. That doesn't make any sense.

We've seen the same intimated about Christmas since we lost him. Question: If these kids are going to be shady in their recruitments, THEN WHY ARE WE RECRUITING THEM? I think it's incredibly hypocritical to say, after the fact, that we lost kids because everybody else is shady and we aren't. It's an excuse, plain and simple. Or, if the coaches didn't realize that their recruitments were going to be shady earlier on, then the coaches aren't doing their jobs well. Either way, it's a poor excuse IMO.
