Nice.
Kid gets after it, and is an athlete. GREAT on the boards, offense steadily improving.
rankings wise, #9 overall on scout, #13 on rivals.
Apparent JTIII is looking to get big and athleitc.

Getting him OR Christmas would be incredible. Getting BOTH would be absolutely a program changer.

Excerpt from ESPN InsiderOctober, 2009: O'Bryant's game isn't always pretty, but this blue-collar beast is fun to watch. He has a great motor at both ends and was easily the best rebounder in attendance. He attacks the glass with a chock full of ferocity and he never stops until the whistle blows. Once he snags the rebound on the defensive end he loves to fill the lane where he can throw it down with authority. Although most of his game translates into power, he does have a respectable jump shot out to the elbow. insider.espn.go.com/ncb/recruiting/tracker/player?recruitId=58503&season=2011BTW, ESPN has him ranked #6 nationally for the class of '11, right behind Christmas @ #5, and just ahead of Quincy Miller @ #7. A few other notables:19 Q Cook 35 Angelo Chol 36 Mikael Hopkins Yes, we all know these are simply rankings, and from Junior Year too. But it's fun to see some of our targets being ranked so highly.

Reminds me a lot of Jeff Green. More advanced than Jeff, however, when he was a junior in high school. Sky is the limit for O'Bryant.

Reminds me of Othella with the MS connection and numbers. Much better athlete than O though. I like that he's a good student; don't like that LSU is involved. We'll see I guess. III going stealth on this one. Nice

The deep pockets of L$U and Mi$$ $t. worry me more than the roots. That said, Hoyas have a shot.

Sounds like Mississippi State's coach is Clemson's leading target. His departure would help.
Also, LSU's program was terrible this year and is losing it's best player in Tasmin Mitchell. Thus, they should be terrible again.
In other words, I like our chances.
Edit: Looks like Stansbury is staying at MSU.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- His YouTube vids are impressive, but whose aren't?
He reminds me somewhat of Patrick Patterson from what I can tell, and seems to be a great multi-year college player. I really like the way he attacks the rim. "

This guy is a real "ravenous beast" (Hibbert never quite reached the "ravenous" level) that attacks the rim like a determined freight train. If I designed a future Hoya in my mind I believe it is Mr. O'Bryant. His moves are relentless, clever and powerful. If we are lucky enough to land him the rebounding ills of the past few seasons END immediately.
Teaming Lubick & O'Bryant would make grabbing a rebound against the Hoyas HAZARDOUS DUTY.
Onto a grander theme: JT3 is getting after it & going for a national title. Or multiple titles. Getting in on O'Bryant is freaking great.
