HSB, I haven't seen any clips of Deng but it would be interesting to compare him to Jordan Omogbehin for example. Two raw big men. There are lots of talented big men in 2011 so I hope we can grab 2 of them. To name a few, Rak, Miller, Chol, Hopkins, Johnny O'Bryant, Greg Lewis (out of Baltimore), Darion Atkins (Bethesda).

Has he visited? Is coach aware of him (i'm sure he is). Can run the floor at least - there's youtube footage only of him getting dunked on by a guard. LOL. but to be fair, he ran the court well and almost had a great block.

What is this, UConn recruiting word jumble? Seriously, just take any combination of the following names:
Ajou Deng Luol Ater Leek Majok
and combine two (and sometime the same one twice) and you have the next big recruit to go to Storrs.

www.chicagotribune.com/sports/dp-spt_boo-sider_0411apr11,0,4117345.story "Leek said that Georgetown, Virginia Tech and Clemson have shown the most interest, though he isn't certain what the coaching staff change with the Tigers will mean." "Leek, a top-150 prospect in the Class of 2011, visited Blacksburg a few months ago and enjoyed it, he said, though he acknowledged that his favorite college programs at the moment are Connecticut and Georgetown." . . . "Leek said that he has grown nine inches and added approximately 25 pounds since he arrived in the U.S. in 2005. He has an immense wingspan and runs the floor well. He blocks shots, rebounds enthusiastically and does not try to do too much offensively." Growth plates?!!?

Man the staff is casting a very wide and talented net for '11. And athleticism seems to be the main focus.
I guess they got tired of the 'III can't recruit' posts on this board.

As things shake out you'll see who the priorities are and who the back ups are. The net is being cast wide and with concurrent plans as well. Necessary, if you want to compete for titles consistently.

ESPN's Paul Biacardi from LeBron camp:
"Deng Leek (High Point, N.C./Wesleyan Christian) 2011, C, 6-foot-10, 220 pounds Leek got our attention with his constant activity in both drills and the scrimmage. With his mobility and tremendous length, he is a constant shot-blocking threat and is very difficult to score over. When he does not block shots, he is in position to contest them. He runs the floor extremely well and finishes above the rim from drop-off passes created by dribble penetration. Leek is a raw prospect who has great upside, but his hands need work but he should greatly benefit from the intense skill work from the Academy. Leek is definitely one to watch if his offense catches up with his defense. At this point in his recruiting, he likes Charlotte, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, Ohio State, Clemson and Washington."

Could it be a good sign GU isn't mentioned? Does that mean we aren't on him because we feel confident with getting some others? He seemed pretty interested in GU early on and it seems like if we were really going after him that interest would have stayed enough to get a mention. I know those quotes can be misleading though, so who knows!
