I'm very sad about this news, but I can't say I'm too surprised. It's a business, & w/ his injuries, he may not be worth his Tier 1 salary next season. I'm curious to see if the Birds make a run at LT.

first dawkins now westbrook. the end of an era is official And what an empty era it was. As we celebrate the golden anniversary of the Seagulls' last title, the fans get yet another golden shower from Lurie, Banner and Reid...

I talked to a good friend of mine last night who's a big Giants fan. He was very excited to hear that Westbrook had been released by the Eagles.

He wasn't happy about possibly getting Westbrook, but he was ecstatic about Philly NOT having him. He kept talking about some past game or games where he singlehandedly killed them.

I can understand the Eagles decision in a business sense, since Westbrook has been really limited by injuries and was set to make something like +$7million next year. However, I can't respect the decision -- no class. Local guy, always left everything on the field, always classy.
Why in the world would any pro player show an ounce of loyalty to his team?
As a Giants fan, yes, I am happy not to have to see Westbrook lined up against the boys in blue any more.

Second me in that group happy not to see Westbrook anymore against the Giants. Always had a lot of respect for that guy... kept his mouth shut and played hard. Hope he catches on somewhere else as long as health issues don't get in the way.
Dawkins on the other hand... cheap shot artist the whole nine yards (see: Ike Hilliard spearing on MNF for starters).
