Will be driving up from Nashville tomorrow afternoon. Louisville feels that their back is against the rope. We better be ready. If we play hard and smart will win. Unfortunally, that has not been the case at times. This game and remaining games will determine a seed....Go Hoyas!!!

When you turn it over as much as we do, surrender as many offensive rebounds as we do, don't force turnovers, and have no depth in the event of foul trouble, it doesn't take a lot of craziness for the team to lose. They don't have a lot of margin for error against anybody. This makes it sound like we have to play a perfect game every time out to ever get a win. We're a good time and there have been plenty of examples of times where we haven't played our best and have won games. Most of our losses we had a lot of stuff going against us. It does take a lot of craziness for our team to lose, IMO. But again i'm an optimist. |

I actually don't know which is worse; our small room for error or the fact the guys seem to KNOW we have no room. Sometimes Chris and Jason look scared to death to make a mistake. Only Austin and Greg play with any swagger at all most of the time. |

I have to revise my outlook a bit because I always felt depth issues were sort of a red herring with this team --- we had a very talented core in Wright, Freeman and Monroe, a nice starting 5, and we wouldn't need much from our bench to be an elite team. The problem is that when one of our big 3 is struggling, we don't have anyone to fill the void and that can mean falling behind big in a hurry. Sometimes we can come back, sometimes we can't, but that's who we are and I think that means a pretty rocky and uneven road ahead unless the 3 can play consistently well and/or our bench starts providing additional help which aint happening.

Actually Clark can take up the slack sometimes if his 3pt shot is falling, but if it is not then he has not shown that he can consistently score in other ways (finishing drives and cuts to basket). Hollis is at least a year away from being a scoring option if the big 3 are not all clicking. Sothe Hoyas fate comes down to their defense. If their defense is on, then they can survive if one of the 3 is having an off game and they get 8-10 pts from Clark. |

the key guy tonight is vaughn. i don't know if he's hurt or something, but he needs to be on the floor getting boards and providing some post offense. he plays so well off of greg and that dynamic just hasn't been there as of late.

Maybe it's jsut me but Sammuels doesn't scare me. People are acting like he's a force this year, but he's only been ok. Greg is having a much better season. greg has 2x as many double doubles and his over all stats are much better. He's only broken 20pts 5 times 2x against scrubs. the other 3 were against, pitt, a Nova team with no inside game, and a harnagodyless ND. Sure he'll probably put up double digits, but he won't be killing us.

Tonight's game is very important. We haven't been getting W's lately and we need to put a stop to that trend. We need to beat a good team... on the road. Team needs to demonstrate to itself that it has regained it's footing and is looking forward to some excitement @ MSG and the NCAA's.
I want to see fire and determination for 40 Minutes!
We NEED to see that tonight.
If we do, we will have a great run for the rest of the season.

I see a team that's struggling besides a nice win @ cuse a team they match up very well against. They got rocked by St. John's, absolutely destroyed. It took them 2OTs to beat a ND without Harangody and they struggled with Depaul.

I see a team that's struggling besides a nice win @ cuse a team they match up very well against. They got rocked by St. John's, absolutely destroyed. It took them 2OTs to beat a ND without Harangody and they struggled with Depaul. I think UL has won something like 6 straight against SU so too much is being made of that win. The UND game is the one I was shocked watching. I thought I saw a team the Hoyas could definitely take down. ND fought the whole game which is something we need to do. The key was having a PG, Tory Jackson, who could handle the press well. We also have that ability with CW, so I think it plays to our advantage. If we can attack that press like we did against Nova, I feel good. Also, the defense has to be a 40 minute effort tonight. This is a game I envision the Hoyas winning and I am not normally an optimist. |

I think you should treat the opponent like you'll kick their ass if you do everything right but that they could very easily kick your ass if you let them. You shouldn't go into a game thinking you're going to lose. but this is probably just semantics. and yes pitino pulled out the white suit for the white out game against Nova that they choked away. |

Perception doesn't matter--Samuels gets treated by officials when he plays at home like he's Wes Unseld--so he's going to get a lot of touch fouls called on guy guarding him--and to me that means Henry Sims better get ready to play--because Monroe is too valuable to have get those cheap calls--put Vaughn on him-and if Julian is in "Cuse mode"--his fouls will be more help then his play. If he decides to play/battle--then we'll have an advantage with Monroe able to stay out of foul trouble. Samuels attempted 28-30 FT's last game in Freedom Hall against Notre Dame--and to his credit-he was making majority of them, something I hope to see from ANY Hoya with game on line. Finally--as only happens to Georgetown--Jerry Smith is in a horrible shooting slump--so of course we should expect his BEST GAME tonight--with 3-4 makes. It's the Gilbert Brown "Stiffy" award for guys who seem to get "up" to play Georgetown. I've yet to see Gilbert Brown make as many outside jumpers as he does against the Hoyas--and it's frustrating as hell.  |

Samuels can score down low -- and despite his lack of athleticism he has a nice college low post game. And RDF is right -- their guards can't shoot, which means I expect one or two of them to go 6-6.

Don't know how much anyone should read into this, but FWIW Chris Wright's tweets certainly indicate he is eager to and confident about playing well tonight. Let's hope its a good omen.
