Some generally poor late game decision making....need to work on it in practice.

The demise of the Hoyas is greatly exaggerated!

Giving up down 10 with 30 seconds to go?? I would NOT be happy if I was a Louisville fan!

All things considered, I am pleased.
Good luck, ND. You gonna need it.

That'll improve the mood dramatically. Terrific 2nd half and a really good win.

At one point I think we had outscored them 24-5 in the second half? Big win.

Great win! and Great win by the ladies who were down by almost an identical score at half @ nova.
We did great in not allowing them to do the things they wanted. They didn't get a lot of offensive boards and we didn't turn the ball over a lot against the press. I wasn't worried this whole game. Shots weren't falling in the beginning. But you knew things would turn around and we'd start scoring. Our defense was very good in the second half except for our transition D against Sosa.
This week has been deemed Judgment week by ESPN. Well we made our statement on what the judgment on our team should be.

We made the tourney!!!
In all seriousness though, a fantastic win. Didn't get rattled when we started 1-10 from the field weathered the storm and kept feeding Greg.
Obviously Austin was amazing in the second half, put us on his back to get control of the game.
Biggest positive for me: The Bench. Hollis with two big 3's early and a couple steals, Vee and Benimon with solid contributions. We're going to need those guys to keep it up if we want to go deep into March.
I love this team.

Pretty amazing how the offense is holding this team back too, isn't it?

A BIG win on the road for Georgetown, a 7th win against a team in the RPI top 50 and gets that losing streak off the page. Take care of business with ND and then take a run at WVU for a #4 seed.
A BIG loss for Louisville with three really tough games remaining: at UConn, at Marquette, and Syracuse. They could easily drop all three and be playing on Tuesday.

What was that thing that we did in the second half where we stayed between the guys in the white and the basket? We should do that in every half of every game.

Something that should not be lost is that our defense was a major factor the turn around.

Just a sick performance by Austin: 9-12 FG's, 5-6 from 3-pt, 6-6 from the foul line.

What can you say? Guys RESPONDED in the second half. We made that huge run because AFree went nuts, yes. But it was also due to OUR DEFENSE. 2 points allowed in the first 10 minutes of the second half basically sealed Louisville's fate. When you play rugged post defense and REBOUND, that's going to be the result. If I'm JTIII I use those 10 minutes as THE lesson for the season: defend your ass off and the rest will fall into place.
I think Vee certainly earned some more minutes with his performance tonight. With CW continuing to struggle (yes he did well breaking the press, but was a non-factor on offense and did not lock down Sosa), Sanford should see some more minutes.
How about that 2nd half from Greg? Did it all: scored, rebounded and found the open man. One of the prettiest looks I've seen from a big in awhile to Julian with the behind the head dish for a layup.
JV continues to struggle. He just looks a step slow and those monster contributions that we saw in the Pitt, Duke and Nova games aren't just coming anymore. He really needs to step it up if we're going to end up making a run this year.
Two enormous threes by Hollis today when our offense was stagnant early. Hopefully this game becomes his personal springboard for something better.
Officiating: missed a lot of calls, but at least they had the decency to make this a game about the players and not a free throw shooting contest. We got outphysical-ed in the first half and went into half down. In the second half, we were by far the more aggressive team, and the rebounding advantage we had is a testament to that. Whatever JTIII said to the guys at halftime worked in terms of firing them up.
The next step now is to make sure the physical play, the attention to defense and rebounding are there for 40 minutes. Not 20. But great step in the right direction today, Hoyas!

Solid road win against a top 50 RPI team. Great D in the second half.
I am a 39yr old, quasi-sucessful guy and my mood is almost entirely determined by Hoyas wins/defeats - just as it was 20 yrs ago...not sure if that makes me young at heart or somewhat pathetic...whatever..let's go with it!
