any info is helpful. Is Gtown planning on refunding tickets or exchanging for those unable to attend on Saturday?
This will definitely come off as bitter, but that game should have been cancelled. I had no power, I live one stop from a below ground metro, and I had to shovel snow all day to make sure my roof didn't collapse.
Still, I am thrilled we won even though I couldn't watch in person or at home (which was 54 degrees by gametime despite an all day fire) and if I have to miss everygame on our way to a national championship, so be it.

I think you can turn your nova ticket in for an extra ticket to the cinci game.
I understand everyone wanting some sort of refund. However, I'd rather the program keep the money. I think the ticket exchange is a fine middle ground. Interesting to read that the game was sold out even though only half the amount showed up.
I understand that some people weren't able t get there, but 10,000 were. I live in bethesda I had no power, but we drove down to verizon to get to the game. Luckily we have friends with a big jeep that had no problem in the snow. I know not everyone is that lucky.

I think the idea of a refund is a bit absurd. The weather was out of Gtown's control, and still 10,000+ made it to this game. I think the ticket exchange for the Cincy game is good enough. Unfortunately, flights are cancelled, trains are delayed, working late/weekends all are factors that can happen at any moment and get in the way. I really don't understand why gtown should take the hit for this.

I really don't understand why gtown should take the hit for this. Because it's easier than expecting your Washington area municipality to perform basic municipal services with a minimal degree of competency!

One word: flamethrowers.
(Or, if you prefer: "flammenwerfers.")

No, but the game should have been cancelled. The Wizards game was cancelled. I think if the metro can't run, that is a decent barometer. I don't care a ton one way or the other because if they give me two 400's for the Cincy game, they will likely not get used. I am guessing this had more to do with the game being on national TV then good common sense & concern for the safety of those attending.

Especially no refund because I figure the majority of fans who missed the game were Nova fans coming down from Philly. Our basketball money doesn't need to go to support Villanofun

I don't think we should cancel wins over top 3 teams, but that's just me.

The game was played because the teams were there and there was no good make up date. There was absolutely no good reason to cancel the game.

The Wizards game was cancelled because neither team could get to DC to play. Nova arrived the day before (saw them checking into the JW Marriott that Friday afternoon).

Aside from the fact that the government told everyone to stay home and travel only in cases of emergency. Under your logic, there would never be a good reason to cancel a game.

yeah the wizards game was canceled because the teams couldn't fly into DC. both teams were in town for our game and there was literally no time to replay the game( nova plays tonight, we lay tuesday and we have two games a week the rest of the season. And the underground metro was running. I'm very glad they didn't cancel the game. And no they don't owe anyone a refund. It's nice they're giving people anything.

Aside from the fact that the government told everyone to stay home and travel only in cases of emergency. The DC government says a lot of things that most people ignore. This is the weakest argument to be made for cancelling the game.

5 mile walk home on Sunday from nearest Metro: Exhausting

People arguing that there were no good reasons to cancel the game are insane. There were just more compelling reasons to play the game as scheduled; namely that the arena and two teams could not find an open date on which to play the game before the end of the season.

The Hoyas and Wizards would have played the game if the teams and officials arrive. Fans are not necessary for the game to occur.
Should the team refund tickets? That's a different story. But they are going to play the game, and while I'm sure TV is a powerful force, I think the issues with re-scheduling are the primary driver.
Just because there's a game doesn't mean the fans have to go. But the refund is a legit question to me when there is a government-declaration to stay home.
That said, 10,000 people got there. What's the line? If NYC shuts down, do all those people with tickets get refunds even if DC is fine? If the Dallas Airport is shut down because of a bomb scare, does DFW get his refund?

The Wizards have 42 games and till April to make up their game. The Hoyas only have about 3 weeks to make up their game before the BET starts. The Verizon Center was booked and there was no way for them to fit a new game into the Hoyas and Villanovas schedule. It had nothing to do with some conspiracy to get on national tv.

The altheltic department budget is based on 15 games at the booth. I've missed one game there in five years. When we buy tickets, we expect to attend the event. The one game I missed was to attend the BCDS national championshup. I didn't think to ask for a refund. Those of you who want a refund, get a life- you could have donated your tickets to charity.
If you book a condo in FLA and a hurricane comes, do you expect the owner to refund your payment. Get real
If you had power, so still could have watched the game. Furthermore, if you are that much of a complainer, I don't want to sit by you, right KGHOYA,

Agree that there were more reasons to play than cancel, which is not to discount the fact that there were reasons to cancel. The reasons to play were just more compelling. Also agree that refunds are not a viable option given the logic others have pointed out.
