Spare me the posts about how it's too early be talking about seeding or these types of things are a joke. It's like complaining that the polls mean nothing this time of year and "the only poll that matters is in April." This is a freaking internet message board. Get over it. sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/writers/andy_glockner/01/11/bracket.watch/index.htmlHe only has 6 Big East teams in, versus 8 from the Big 12 and 7 from the ACC? However, the Big East has a #1, #2, 2 #3s, #4 and a #5 seed. I definitely don't think the league is that top heavy.

And he mentions that Wisconsin just "edged out" WV and GU for a 2 seed. I think this is rather optimistic, but I'll take it!

A long time between Saturday and Thursday, these give us something to talk about even though they will have little similarity to the final brackets. Interesting to note that collegerpi.com has us as a #2 in the East - since I have tickets to the Regionals I would love the chance to wear Hoya blue and Gray.

6 from the Big East and 5 from the A-10...even the author admits that this as an extremely improbable scenario. Hard to believe that Richmond AND Rhode Island AND Xavier AND Dayton would stay in the mix over Louisville, Seton Hall, Notre Dame, Cincinnati, and maybe even Marquette or St. John's if they can turn things around. Obviously they won't all get in but as the season progresses 2-3 of them will warrant consideration in the 8-12 seed range.

Am I the only one who thinks Syracuse might be a little overrated? 15-1 is an impressive record, no matter what - but they LEAPT up in the rankings (I believe from unranked to top 10) on the strength of that early season blowout win over Carolina, which now looks pretty pedestrian this season. Otherwise, their big wins are Florida, Memphis and Cal - none of which are ranked at the moment.
Can't wait to get our shot at them - and back on Big Monday, which is where that game should always be.

Drop Nova and it's Texas, Kentucky, Kansas, and Cuse as the best teams in America right now.

No, I mentioned the Carolina win - but that team has 4 losses already, including one to College of Charleston, and I don't see anyone putting College of Charleston on the 1 seed line.

Just saying that the wins aren't all that impressive outside or (maybe) UNC

you're right.
the charleston game was great. reminded me of the g'town win over unc the way that they completely ignored the post players down the stretch and collapsed. they looked really disorganized. that high-arching 3 to tie it at the end of regulation was awesome...

I would absolutely take the Providence pod in the East Region.
Not only could we get some fans in the stands, but we have a chance to cut down the nets at the Carrier Dome? Edited yeah!

Cuse is definitely NOT overrated.
They are as good and as talented as any team in the country.

Cuse is definitely NOT overrated. They are as good and as talented as any team in the country. They have played surprisingly well, and deserve where they are right now. They are NOT as good or as talented as Kentucky or Texas.

I was thinking about this the other day when looking at Lunardi's latest bracketology. While anyone who follows the team closely knows that a 2 seed is likely a stretch (considering the remaining schedule still to be played - and other factors discussed at length here over the past few months), if you look strictly at our "resume" to date, we are in the mix for certainly a 3, if not a 2. According to Lunardi, our 4 wins over Top 50 RPI teams is tied for the most in the country. I really enjoy speculating and thinking about this stuff while we are winning, so hopefully we can get the win over SHU to keep the fun going.

Temple, Duke, Harvard, Washington, Butler all have varying shots to win their conferences/conference tournaments (as does Old Dominion)... opportunity to have beaten the winner of five conferences (plus BE oppnents) and have a loss to another conference champion in OD. That would be an interesting resume should decent play in conference occur.
