Was Nikita really that bad??
I don't understand all of the hate for Nikita.
I guess he couldn't play like Vernon and Jeremiah couldn't play.

I would totally get that final point first! I wasn't including the possibility of a half-court bomb banging in off the board - I was talking about legitimate basketball. I have no doubt Nikita would bury 21 straight without a sweat.

Vernon, and he wasn't a fit for the system. At no point early this season did I think or say "Hey, we need Nikita in here"! He handled the ball poorly, shot poorly, was an average passer, and was a foul magnet on defense. He did try, but that's not sufficient. I wish Nikita the best, but I can't see him playing much at Wake.

The ACC is a bit softer so that may help and if they play zone they could hide some foot speed issues. I could see it working especially if they are going to lose a lot of talent this year. Good Luck!

If I were a Wake fan, I'd be livid. He's already proven he can't play at this level.

Yeah, this seems strange to me. I think he could be a solid contributor at a CAA or Patriot League school. But at Wake? Maybe he just wants stay at a school with a solid academic rep but get a fresh start with less pressure?

Can that just be a thread of its own? Let me start... If I were a Wake fan...I'd have trouble keeping track of which holstered cell phone was blowing up my dockers at any given time.

No wonder all these kids leave. Don't think word doesn't get out about your pathetic insults. Are you going to start picking on Sims next? Is he your new whipping boy? Nothing worse than an arm chair keyboard warrior who has a complex about his own athleticism. Casually (what a retarded catchphrase)

I propose a moratorium on discussions of players who no longer attend Georgetown within 24 hours of the players who do attend Georgetown actually playing a game. Casually submitted.

After talking with Wake fans, it seems as though he'll have 1.5 years of playing time (basically next spring semester plus 2011-2012). We are graduating a ton this year and will lose Al-Farouq Aminu to the draft. With 5 returning players and a 5-man recruiting class, we could just use extra bodies for practices and such. He won't take up a scholarship for very long, and we'll have plenty of ships for 2011 and 2012 as is. It just sounds like we could use an extra body for two years and hope for the best.
Good luck tomorrow.

I definitely think Nikita can contribute as a bench player at Wake. He was having a bad year here, but he showed flashes last year. Sometimes people need a change to get better - I've watched IU and FL a couple of times each this season, and Jeremiah and Vern have both improved a lot IMO. I hope it works out for both Nikita and Wake, a school I usually root for when I'm not rooting for Gtown.

What a bunch of jackasses.
Nikita was never a problem and did his best. Good luck. Maybe he can fit in at Wake. He always seemed like an outsider in the team dynamic here.
