Does anyone have it? Invites for people who had signed up went out yesterday. I've been playing around with it with some friends today and IMO it might be the most useless thing Google has ever put out. It just seems like gmail, gchat, and google docs all wrapped into one. What are others thoughts?

I think as it stands now its not viable, but when people are actually on it (i.e. more than just a handful of your friends and colleagues) it will be a valuable collaborative tool and I don't just mean in terms of work. For example, just imagine a fantasy draft/auction...it allows video conferencing and a forum that can be manipulated by all invited members.

Much like anything Steve Jobs does, I am finding it increasingly difficult to resist anything with the name "Google" in front of it.
I have not tried this out yet, but I'm sure it's just a matter of time.

I have it, but I haven't played with it at all yet. I'm not sure what kind of potential it has. Pretty useless post on my part, I guess.

A few of my friends and I played around with it a little today. I could not conceive of a single reason I would ever use it for anything ever in perpetuity throughout the universe.

I'm a journalist and can think of some uses, but it's going to need a lot more people on it before it becomes viable. For example, when I co-write an article with another reporter, I think this would be a good way for us to work together in real time.
And with google, I expect a good interface, but wave's interface needs a ton of improving if this is going to work. Currently, wave is poorly integrated with other google stuff ... for example, I would like a gchat notification to pop up and let me know someone has replied to a wave -- right now, I can't tell if anyone does anything.
But if they get it straightened out, I can see some good intra-office or group-project uses.

I have it, but haven't really played with it. Like others, I see the potential, but at this moment don't see anything useful I could do with it. Maybe some collaborative planning, even for parties, events, etc. and not just work.

If you are in law school, imagine a class where your study group was all on google wave and continually updating an outline during a class or during reading. That is one place I would have loved to have had it.
Similarly, in my practice, I can conceive of several situations in which it would be incredibly helpful. Coordinating research with other lawyers in other offices across the country in real time seems like an obvious use.
