This matchup is what I think this game comes down to. as we saw earlier in the season these are two evenly matched teams. I think the fact that it is not a home game will affect us very little, we've shown we can win in tough atmospheres.
what it comes down to is which coach is better able to adapt his team from the first game to negate the other teams strengths, and at this point I have faith in JT3, and I am sure he will outcoach Brey and that our Hoyas will win.

This is actually a very interesting point. Rutgers is the only repeat game thus far and we did very nicely on the road making adjustments.
However, we face a stretch of 4 games where we play a team for the second time this year and they've seen the style of play we employ.
The 2nd time is always interesting and it should be a great test of coaching ability over the next 4 games.
Needless to say...I'll take JTIII in all of those match-ups.

I think the adjustments that are made at the half by JTIII are very impressive... Despite me thinking that his substitution patterns are a bit bizarre, he seems to always come up with a combination to give the boys an advantage... I thought for sure Roy's play in the 1st half caused problems for West Va., but he didn't get too much action in the second half...but JTIII comes out with the win despite my bewilderment...

I feel the same way, but if he put four pumpkins and a trashcan on the floor and we won, I wouldn't care...

In terms of pure coaching ability, I don't think Brey holds a candle to JT3. There are quite a few excellent coaches in the BE, and I believe Brey is in the lower tier of all the BE coaches. 1. JT3 (am i biased? maybe) 2. Calhoun 3. Boeheim 4. Wright 5. Dixon 6. Skinner 7. Roberts 8. Brey 9. Beilein 10. Waters 11. Orr 12. Welch

I might even put Skinner third. He has some good players, but his teams do a great job of overachieving, most of the time.

Brey looks like the child molester you would expect to see on an ABC after-school special.

I think you underestimate Beilein. He took over a program in complete and utter disarray and turned them into a disciplined surprise. He does not have a ton of talent, but give him time to see who he can recruit.
I'd go:
1. Calhoun 2. Skinner 3. Boeheim 4. Dixon 5. JT3 6. Beilein 7. Wright 8. Roberts 9. Brey 10. Orr 11. Waters 12. Welch

Welch I don't know about Dixon. Dixon is coaching a team that he did not recruit as a head coach, and took over a team that was already successful. So I think the jury is still out on him. I think JT3 is better than Dixon, and Brey is a good coach as well as Orr should be above Roberts. Roberts hasn't even proven anything yet. Boehiem I give senority over Skinner. I still think Calhoun is overrated. A JT2 he will never be, although he would like to think he is better. When JT2 felt like coaching and recruiting, i.e., the 70s and 80s, there was nobody better.

Boheim and Calhoun have 500 wins and national championships. They go on top by default. Skinner comes third, and then there's a big shuffle before you get to the Waters, Welsh, Orr tier. It's too early to judge JTII, Roberts, or even Dixon. Brey has recruited very well, but they haven't quite made the leap to perenial power or title contender.

I might even put Skinner third. He has some good players, but his teams do a great job of overachieving, most of the time. I'd put Skinner up there too. He took over an awful situation and has turned it around. As for Tim Welsh at PC, he was very effective at IONA, and I thought he had a couple good years at PC too. What happened to that program? I don't really follow it, but their W-L this year is atrocious. I'd have to know more before agreeing with the lowest rankings I am seeing on this thread for him.
