I'm not a big fan of the polls...I usually don't pay too much attention to them...
But I was absolutely sure they would rank the boys this week...
I guess nationally televised games really do help a team's cause...

if we win both games this week i think that we easily will be ranked in the 16-20 range. at 10-3 in the conference it would be pretty tough for the writers and the coaches to ignore us.
as you sai dtv plays a huge part of this, especially in regards to the coaches. if they cant see you play how do they know if you are counterfit or not.
if we take care of business the rest will take care of itself.

Just disappointing that so many teams are being rewarded with a top 25 ranking, and they've been playing mediocre ball as of late...

I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't go 1-1 this week and somehow end up ranked next week. That's how stupid these rankings have been. I know that UConn lost at home to UNC on Sunday. However, that was without one of their top players and does anybody really believe that Pacific is only one spot worse than UConn. I'm all for mid-majors getting respect but I also believe that they should earn it by playing some good competition in their OOC schedule. You're telling me that they couldn't schedule 1 Pac-10 team.

But I was absolutely sure they would rank the boys this week... Considering we only had the votes for 32nd place last week, and had only a home win over WVU... there didn't seem to me to be any way that we would move up enough to get in. We have a very tough job trying to get two more BE road wins this week. IF we do, we should be ranked. If we split? probably not. As many have said, there is inertia in the polls. Top teams can lose games and still be ranked. Teams like ours -- with minimal expectations -- need a long stretch of consitency AND/OR a BIG win -- like Cuse on the road, or BC. Had we won either of those games, we'd be in. But it's OK. We are doing fine. Great progress this year. And our team LOOKS Far better than they did earlier in the year. Confidence, poise, clutch play down the stretch. These guys aren't pulling upsets anymore. They are winning games they should. It has been a fantastic year to be a HOYA fan... even if we aren't in the TOP 25 yet. And the best is yet to come!
