Thoughts on Meghan McCain's Twittering habits? So many different topics of conversation, not sure whether this belongs in Friday Fun or somewhere else . . . link below (maybe NSFW?), with the breasts that launched a thousand tweets (and silenced her own): voices.washingtonpost.com/celebritology/?hpid=entnewsOn the one hand, I totally take her at face value. On the other -- I mean, how could she have not realized that this particular pic was a bad idea? The "front page of the New York Times" rule always applies, regardless of medium. That all said, wow. Boz, this could be your dream girl.

Liz Kelly is an insufferable liberal snot in her posts and chats.
Pic was a bad idea. Yes, you're well-endowed and it leads to stereotyping, which is wrong, but until we all hold hands and sing kumbaya, you've gotta be careful. But the snarky response to the previous comment that politicians' kids should be off-limits doesn't make sense.

Agree re Liz Kelly, but the Post piece was one of the few news stories I found that included the picture as well as a discussion. When I first read the story without the benefit of having seen the picture, I was very sympathetic to her. Once I saw the picture, I had a better understanding for why this had become such a story. It's not just that she's built and is wearing a tank top -- it's that the top is doing some real push-up work.

Yeah, her story about just lounging around the house and the photo don't jibe. Mind you I don't give a crap either way if she posted herself totally topless, just spare me the sympathy ploy.

But the snarky response to the previous comment that politicians' kids should be off-limits doesn't make sense. Meghan McCain has 69,000 Twitter followers, she's got her own column, and she's been on The View how many times now? I think we're well past the point where a criticism of her is an attack-by-proxy on John McCain, or we blame John McCain for her US Weekly antics. She's 24, if she gets a column on The Daily Beast, then she deserves to be criticised on her own - good and bad. BTW, Liz Kelly went back to Meghan McCain's own written and published words - not her father's - in criticizing her. The idea that the reaction is the media's fault is absolutely ridiculous - this was a viral Twitter thing.

The fact that this is now a matter for prestigious newspapers speaks more to the terrible state of contemporary journalism than anything having to do with Meghan McCain.

The fact that this is now a matter for prestigious newspapers speaks more to the terrible state of contemporary journalism than anything having to do with Meghan McCain. It's part of a Post blog called "Celebretology", not the Op-Ed page.

I recognize that, but my hope for newspapers is that they focus on "Cerebraltology" rather than "Celebretology." In many respects, the Washington Post is lacking in that department.

She's an attention whore who deserves whatever happens to her. Next step is a "leaked" sex tape, which of course will be the media's fault too. It's hard out here for a talentless daughter of the wealthy and well-connected.

My comments:
1. Meghan McCain could only be my dream girl if she dyed her hair a nice Shirley Manson shade of ginger....and if she grew more than the half brain she is working with.
2. For the first and maybe only time ever, at least on the Blue & Gray board, I say the following words: "I agree with everything TC has posted."
3. Meghan, yes, you have big boobs. I like that about you. But nobody -- not even Elvira, Mistress of the Dark -- has boobs that look that way "naturally." Nope. Nobody. Stop it already.
4. On the other hand, Meghan McCain may be a genius. Honestly, does anyone read her Daily Beast column? Probably not before, but I'll bet you people are reading it today.
5. Reason #834530 never to read Kathleen Parker or believe anything she says: A couple of days ago, Parker wrote a column in the Washington Post in which she talked about the women who could help the Republican Party. Her four examples: Liz Cheney, Meg Whitman, Carly Fiorina.....and Meghan McCain. Excuse me, what? (I realize some are going to have trouble with the first three for various reasons, but you have to admit that at least they are all very accomplished women)
And finally....
6. I really, really would like a glass of milk for some reason.

Um, Boz, can I have a word in private about #3? <Sometimes they do, in fact, look like that naturally.>
As for #4, I didn't even know what she looked like until this thread.

I still don't know.
Could some kind person tell me what I'm looking for and where.
However, I found out who LiLo is.
Sorry I did.
The Coogan Law needs to be strengthened.

Found it [them]!
Now will someone explain this "pro-sex Republican" idea?
Upon reflection, I do recall an item in the tabloids in the '80s that when the Reagan [sp.?] Admin. came to town that the amount of genital jewelry in D.C. quintupled overnight.
And how to forget the early net-sex postings of GOP op/insider Roger "I'll start wearing socks when the Russkies get out of Afganistan" Stone?
Democrats stopped having sex long ago. Too wearing constantly asking permission to caress.
