Green is not a color looked upon kindly in Israel. You'd think a legislative aide on a trip to Israel might take the time to get to know that. Hell, if I take a trip up to Manchester, I sure ain't wearing a blue and white scarf, you know? And that's just football. Hamas is life and death. Second, I highly doubt that this aide's father was so snarkily eloquent as he reports having been. If he was, however, he deserves a little discomfitting for his clever little double-entendre with a terrorist organization. |

This is why baseball caps that are not the proper team colors, e.g. pink Red Sox hats, are stupid.

But I agree that they are stupid or lame at best. What about those green Red Sox hats? Although I must admit being guilty for buying my wife a pink Gator visor last year. |

On the subject of strange hat combos: in 2005 Florida went to the College World Series. I was supposed to go but our trip fell through. But I did have friends out there, so I asked them to bring me a shirt and hat. I don't know if they did it in purpose, but the hat they brought me is Seminole Garnet. I get some strange looks whenever I wear that hat, since everyone who knows me knows my hatred for the Noles. But a couple of years later it was even better. 2 Years ago, Fresno St. won the CWS. That year a good friend of mine took a teaching job at Fresno. Knowing my love of college baseball, he sent me a commemorative hat. The funny part is that the back of the hat has that intertwined F and S that's almost identical to FSU's and the front of the hat has a big Bulldog on it. So here I am, the diehard Gator with what looks strikingly like an FSU hat from the back and a Georgia Bulldog from the front.
