One of the greatest guitarists in history, a true innovator, the man who recorded the first ever eight track, and from all accounts a great guy, has died at the age of 94. “He was one of the most stellar human beings I’ve ever known,” Slash posted on his Twitter today, referring to Paul as his “friend and mentor.” Chickenfoot guitarist Joe Satriani released a statement that reads, “Les Paul set a standard for musicianship and innovation that remains unsurpassed. He was the original guitar hero, and the kindest of souls.” www.rollingstone.com/rockdaily/index.php/2009/08/13/les-paul-guitar-legend-dead-at-94/www.cnn.com/2009/SHOWBIZ/Music/08/13/obit.les.paul/index.htmlRest in peace, Mr. Paul. Your music and influence will live on forever.

Your music and influence will live on forever. Thanks for posting Coast. Les did more for the guitar than anyone else who ever lived -- and in both Jazz and Rock circles. Everyone in rock has played a Les Paul guitar at some point. He played at NYC jazz Club Iridium every Monday night for ages. He will be greatly missed. Thanks Les. RIP
