I figured I'd start the thread for the Reebok All-American Camp. I'll be helping out the Hoopscoop again this year. Below is link to the camp roster. The full roster is supposed to be posted on the 4th. www.ballercircuit.com/?page_id=887Jalen Kendrick is supposed to be there. Brandon Knight has attended the last couple of years, but is questionable for this year. Other names of interest are: - Kyle Anderson - Chris Coleman - Tyrone Johnson - Balla's favorite recruit - Markus Kennedy - Nova commit - LeBryan Nash - Victor Oladipo - Mychal Parker - LaQuinton Ross

I'll be at the camp tomorrow and will try to post updates late tomorrow evening.
I'm disappointed that Jelan Kendrick is attending NIKE instead. Nike is absolutely loaded this year. I loved it when there was only one elite camp and it was held at Princeton.

Here in Philly all week. For the first session of games this morning, I saw representatives of every Big East school except GU. Now is an "evaluation" period, meaning coaches cannot speak to recruits but can watch them play. This camp has a great deal of talent, and from the morning session, I would say LaBryan Nash was impressive. He plays with intensity & goes after the ball at the rim. His jumpshot is confident, but his ballhandling needs work. Obviously did not get to see everyone listed above, but I will try to post more as the week progresses.

I just got back from camp. The talent is way down this year. I didn't see anyone from GU there either. I'll post more info tomorrow, but some of the best players on Day 1 were: Joe Jackson, LeBryan Nash, Jesse Morgan, Tyrone Garland, Myles Mack, Khem Birch 6'9 2012.
Tyrone Johnson played really well in his 2nd game today. Wasn't quite as explosive as I expected, but was very effective and able to penetrate at will.
Kyle Anderson 6'6 2012 is really skilled and a smooth player, but definitely not a PG. He had two nice games today.
LaQuinton Ross has been the biggest disappointment so far.

Thanks MJG. As for Tyrone, keep in mind he is still playing with an injured knee. When healthy, he is very explosive. No worries there

Finally back home in DC. To re-visit the RAAC, the first observation is that Joe Jackson was FAR & AWAY the best player in camp. Whichever school lands him will be very happy. Other than that, I echo MJG in that the talent was not impressive. Names that did stand out to me, however are: Keaton Miles (2011), Chris Coleman (2011) & Kyle Anderson (noted above by MJG). While I loved LeBryan Nash on Wednesday, I watched him dog it through all 3 of his Thursday games. On Friday at 2pm, he was easily the best player in his team's playoff game. He probably poured in 30+ & was a rebounding machine. Since he showed some "poutability", I'm not so sure I hope he ends up a Hoya. As for Coleman, he has some of the best low post moves I've EVER seen on a 16/17 year old. His feet are tremendously quick, but his defense needs improvement. It's not bad, just needs improvement. He could also benefit from trimming some of the "baby weight". As MJG stated above, Khem Birch could be worth watching develop over the next year or so.
GU staff was on-hand for Thursday games, between camps in OH, WV, SC, & GA. No doubt the talent at those camps supercedes the RAAC.
Of the players indicating an interest in GU, the following did not impress:
Waverly Austin: Physically weak; I mean REALLY weak (pushed around by smaller guys); & Lazy to boot. He did block 10 shots in 1 quarter on Wednesday, but an overall bust. LaQuinton Ross: Noted above Victor Oladipo: Too inconsistent w/ jumpshot; C- for ballhandling

Thanks Vegas and MJG for the coverage.
Not much talent and not much to watch, but thanks for doing your best.
