This one is for Bando: news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090618/ap_on_go_pr_wh/us_obama_dead_flyPETA is sending President Barack Obama a Katcha Bug Humane Bug Catcher, a device that allows users to trap a house fly and then release it outside. .... Swatting a fly on TV indicates he's not perfect," Friedrich said, "and we're happy to say that we wish he hadn't."

Whenever I see the name PETA, I just like to think about the Bullsh*t piece that Penn and Teller did on them and some of the eco-terrorist groups. That was fun.

I love PETA because I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that the whole organization is some giant Andy Kaufmann-esque performance piece made to make its members feel like idiots.

I feel this continues a long PETA tradition of alienating people who might be open to their cause, in this case, Obama supporters. You should read the feminist blogs I read. You'd think feminists would be open to PETA, but PETA continues to be sexist s who put bikini-clad women in cages during their protests, so feminists hate them.
PETA basically has a strategy of attracting attention to themselves in any way possible, using a series of logical leaps to conclude that this somehow furthers animal rights. They're going to be very surprised in a few years when their only support is from idiot celebrities.

So PETA PETI is upset? In the words of HBO's persona non grata Artie Lange, "Waaaaah!"

There is no truth to the rumor that the fly was actually a pet of CNBC host Jim Cramer and the fly's name was "Capitalism."
