Seems like the list of 2012 prospects seriously considering the Hoyas has narrowed. As I see it, given recent lists given by prospects, our targets look like this:
1: Semaj Christon, James Robinson 2: D'vauntes-Smith Rivera, Myles Davis 3: Kyle Anderson, Arnaud Adala-Moto, TJ Warren 4: Devonta Pollard, Amile Jefferson 5: Gavin Ware, Brandon Bolden
If Hollis leaves, we will have 4 scholarships available.

Good list TP, and as we've seen, it's a list that will see subtractions/additions, but good starting point. I'd put DSR as a PG--that's where he wants to play in college. Only guy on that list that I don't think is considering Hoyas seriously is Amile Jefferson right now--like his game/wish he was, but think it's a Nova lean--with Maryland (at least they were) the other team in good position.

I seem to recall within the last day seeing Ware to Louisville. Any confirmation?

I seem to recall within the last day seeing Ware to Louisville. Any confirmation? Different Ware Longtimesaxa. Kevin Ware a 6'4 combo guard in '11 class committed to Louisville. Tony Parker is talking about 6'8 Center Gavin Ware from Mississippi who is class of '12.

Good list. Remember that at this time last year Porter was unknown to any of us, Whittington was unknown to any of us, Tyler Adams was not associated with Georgetown in any way whatsoever, and Trawick was a bit under-the-radar and had not yet been mentioned with Georgetown (at least, his thread was not started yet ). So of the 5 recruits in 2011, only one of them was on our radar this time last year in Hopkins, and it still ended up being a solid class.

Actually last August we all thought we were in great shape with guys like Ochefu 12, Christmas and Johnson. and we had a commit from Goodman. Things change and will continue to. I'd be surprised if we end up with one from the above list when all is said and done.

Both Christon and Ware have declared us their leaders. I'd be surprised if we don't end up with 2 of them.

the point i'm making is still valid despite the fact that my recall is not what it once was. Yes i am well aware that Bloden gave a verbal quite awhile ago. If he signs or not in november is quite another thing either his choice or ours. The simple fact that barring any transfers which we should count on at least one we will have but 4 and maybe 5 available slots over the next 2 years. Not much room for error here. Christon looks good in a weak pg class so tell me why we haven't made an offer. Ware we are co-leaders with a couple closeby SEC schools and with ACC in the wings and i do believe you have stated that we should set our sites higher. Its my opinion that out of these 4 or 5 slots we need at least 1 major impact player if not 2 and a very solid PG . Kyle fills one slot quite well but it appeasrs that he is far from the sure thing that many counted on. We did a pretty good job recovering from early losses with last years class not sure we can afford that this year. What is evident to me is that we still need to upgrade talent at a few more positions not sure the list really targets the needs at the level i would like to see. You may be right and we get a couple on this list i'm not sure it raises the talent level to where it needs to be.

Oh I absolutely agree with you that getting one or two people on this list doesn't necessarily mean it would be a success. We're also definitely on the same page when it comes to needing an impact player. Thats why I'm not high on Ware. We've landed some seemingly solid recruits lately, but it doesn't seem like any of them can take over. It kind of feels like most of our more recent recruits (the last two classes) are role players. It takes a star to win. So you're absolutely right when you say there's not much room for error. That also makes the Bolden commitment a little disconcerting to me. Who knows if he signs or not, but I'd hate to see it happen if we had the potential to bring on a higher quality player. We need 1 or 2 high-impact players over the next two years. I would probably consider Anderson one of those. Drummond seems unlikely but he lists us, and UConn is in a bad way right now. He's the type of player we need to remain not only competitive, but also relevant. If 2012 doesn't go as planned, I think we'd desperately need Noel or someone of that caliber in 2013. Otherwise, I'm just not so sure we're going to see a lot of success in the future.

couldn't agree more. Anderson solves alot of problems just don't have a great feeling about himanymore with our recent misses. Who knows about Noel we have not really recruited any real babc kids that i can recall. Is Britt in play for 2013 not sure given the CM factor. i hear we have offered. who knows pehaps we can develop a pipeline out of the south. we do need to turn around the fact that we been on a lot of high profile kids of late early and in good shape, but due to circumstances could not close at thr end. That needs to change.

Britt is definitely in play for '13, as are Troy Williams, Al Freeman, Colbert and Noel. If Hoyas get Britt, Noel and Williams; that's a top 5 class.

On Kuran Not sure his interest is that high. I'm not sure ours should be either. The kid has talent and can handle the ball but spends way too much time on the perimiter taking threes. Kid looks great against smaller players but when he goes against size inside he's very average. The one thing that he is very good at is getting a rebound and taking it the length of the court to the basket. pretty unstoppable against any level when he get it going this way. Needs a lot of work on defense his overall effort his weak and tends to sulk and dissapear when he's not getting the ball. In the games i've seen him play you get about 5 mins of all world and 25 of whats the big deal.

It seems like a lot of the national analysts are high on Robinson, while many of the local people on this board say he's nothing special. Reminds me a bit of Mikael Hopkins last year.
