Former Ohio State commit has Georgetown "in the hunt", according to MaxPreps article: www.maxpreps.com/news/article.aspx?articleid=032c8e3a-c748-de11-a973-001cc494dda6He's a 6'0" shooting guard, which is what's made a bunch of teams shy away from him. However, he might be a terrific fit with a guy like Kendrick running point. Does anybody know if he's on the same AAU team as Kendrick (both from Georgia, I believe)?

Don't think a backcourt of 6'0 Markel and 6'0 Golden is ideal for what III likes to do. There are no mismatches with that. Now, Markel, Kendrick, Odom, Jones would be a nightmare; much like Rashard Lewis is a matchup nightmare for the Cavs.

agreed id...don't really see him being offered a scholie...i think we need a 2-3 like kendrick and a 3-4 type like jones or roscoe for the remaining two ships

I would understand this one better if Golden/Kendrick are boys. Golden can flat-out score it. Hoyas did OK with smallish backcourt combo of Wallace/Sapp (although Golden/Starks would be even smaller). If a package deal with Gordon begets Kendrick, I'm all for it.

Staff seems to like K.C. Ross-Miller, so it seems they may want another combo guard type in 2010. Personally I'd like to see them take one swingman and one big guy who can help with rebounding, but I'm not surprised to learn we have shown interest in Golden. Despite the fact that fans are focusing on the usual suspects (Kendrick, Smith, Jones), none of those guys are locks in fact there is a chance we get none of them. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see the staff go in a different direction, even though the message board buzz has been around those guys.

Gtown is not really recruiting Golden, better to label him in the monitoring category. GU is monitoring a lot of players, just like every program is. That does not mean any of these prospects will get a written offer... People should take these articles with a large grain of salt. Remember all of the names (Spurlock/Vinson...) floated by that National Enquirer site, and yet rarely do any of those guys really have offers. Heck those guys thought GU was still pushing for Latavius yesterday.
