How bad is it? I read the DaVinci Code 6 years ago, and though it is quite a page turner, it is an awfully written book with a minefield of mistruths. And I'm not talking about the theology/Church/Opus Dei portions. Dan Brown, despite his claims that the organizations/facts in the book were correctly described, manages to get much of cryptography, art and even geography wrong (has he never seen a map?).
But I am still fascinated by the subject matter anyway. I never saw the DaVinci Code movie, but people keep telling me A & D was a better book, so maybe it ain't that bad a movie?

I'm likewise fascinated by the subject matter. I channeled my inner Robert Langdon during yesterday's WaPo Scavenger Hunt.
I thought the Da Vinci Code movie was moderately enjoyable B-grade material, but thought (and think) that Hanks is WAY the wrong guy to play Langdon. Haven't seen A&D yet; probably won't until it comes out on DVD, what with Wolverine and Terminator coming out soon.
That said, I probably enjoyed A&D the book better than Da Vinci the book, so hopefully the movie will follow the same stripe.
