From those in the know, does this wrap up our '09 recruiting push? Anything else in the cooker?

I was ready to ask the same question. Is it me or does this class resemble a Tubby Smith type of class at Kentucky. And he did well with 4 year blue collar workers. We need a loaded class next year though.

*sigh* Well, if Williams is truly gone, we will add 2 players only moderately recruited, plus a single well-regarded freshman, to a team that finished #12 in the Big East, lost its first round BET and NIT games, and lost our #1 and #5 scorers and our top two 3-point shooters. Given the fact that it seems fairly certain that Greg will only be here one more year, it would take one amazing recruiting class next year to return this team to the top echelon of the league.

Not sure I get the hype surrounding LW: -Yes, he was ranked highly by rivals, but not necessarily by other rankings. Not that rankings matter anyway. -He struggled academically and clearly did not have a strong desire to come to GU.
LW sounded like he could have been the evil combo of Macklin and Chris Braswell: Raw and weak academically. Given our constant problems with transfers, this sounded like another one waiting to happen. We all know JT3's final 4 run came with a bunch of unheralded recruits. I think the program should focus its attention first on recruits that are good all around players who really want to be at GU and truly buy into the system. If they happen to be 5 star recruits as well (like Monroe), then great. But enough of the focus on how many stars a recruit has in front of his name...

We need a loaded class next year though. Totally agree. Over 2009 and 2010, we need to bring in a top PG, a top wing and a top PF. We should probably add another top wing to that, too. Plus some PG depth and maybe some big man depth. Oh, wait. That's our class as currently constructed. Good to know. Why do people continue to pretend that Hollis, Markel and Nate don't exist? That we're not recruiting a bunch of top 2010 wings?

SF -- Markel and Nate are studs. We will be delighted to welcome them to GU and -- hopefully -- watch them grow over 4 years! And we know Hollis is going to be a big hit this year.
I don't know who else we'll get in 2010, but there is still plenty of time to nail down a couple more commitments. IF we don't get Latavious... yes, too bad. A super athletic kid who can bang, board, block shots and add a ton of energy would be great. IF we don't get him (as seems likely), too bad. But the show will go on.
