JTIII was showing three prospects around campus yesterday. Does anyone know who they were?

A quick review of the 2009 Recruits thread shows that two of them were Vee Sandford and Troy Daniels. Don't know who the other one was, though.

Someone about 6'4" was eating dinner with Henry tonight. Wearing a shirt with a CAA basketball logo, so could have been a high schooler or transfer. Not Troy Daniels or Sanford, and I Googled the names near the top of the recruiting board and it's none of them. Any ideas?

The tall guy was John Reik's half-brother - helped him get through the rigors of high school in Cairo. I can't seem to find footage of him on the Internet.

Nah, not around here. Did you catch that conversation with some sort of eavesdropping devise ;D I may or may not have planted a bug on him earlier in the day. I cannot confirm or deny such allegations as it would violate my restraining order of getting near/stalking hoya recruits.

The tall guy was Jerel Beinimon (?) 6'7 210 SF from Va. My boy was recruiting him to his school and was happy because he thought he was getting an under the radar player with division 1 talent.. He didnt play big time AAU. I have never seen him but he told me he was a stud and a hoya lock. I hope he is and boy is normally a good evaluator of talent. I hope he is more like a Wallace low profile player and not a Ramel Ross. No offense Ramel!

I hope he is more like a Wallace low profile player and not a Ramel Ross. No offense Ramel! Ok, I'll get on my soapbox here for a second... First off, its RAMELL ROSS, not Ramel. Spell it right, please. Second, Ramell was a TOP recruit after his junior year - Post All-Met (along with Sweetney and Victor Shamnick), and also Northern Region Player of the Year, District Co-Player of the Year and McDonald's All-American Honorable Mention. He lost 3 full years (senior year of high school, sophmore and redshirt junior years at GTown) to significant injuries. He was 6'6" and could play point guard. He would have been a solid contributor, if not a significant star, were it not for losing all that time due to injuries. Don't call him "low profile" because his career didn't pan out the way it probably should have before the injuries. <steps off soapbox>

Agree, HoyaSox04.
People always downplay the effect of injuries (as in "What are the chances someone's career is ruined by injuries) because this always happens -- people forget how good the guys were before they got hurt.
Both Ross and to a lesser extent, Courtland Freeman, were severely hampered by injuries.

Who cares about your rant. Im making a a comparison in my opinion. My opinion means as much to you as your means to me. This kid is suppossed to be good and I hope my boy is right. Come to Hoyaland! We have too many open schollies.

It's Samnick not Shamnick. Spelling is as spelling does.

How are we going to offer him a schollie if Vee is supposedly now a lock and we still want Williams....

We have 3 open schoolies for next year...so we can technically do that, the problem is if someone doesnt leave for the nba or transfer we only will have one open one for 2010. Since Monroe is definitely gone after this year.
