slow your roll saxa, no inside info, just "guessing" next commit. I hope its LW then a transfer.

OK, I'll go with LW and a transfer. I guess that might mean the kid from Santa Clara as that is the only one I've seen discussed... at least publicly.

Well now you have Allen Chaney, the Florida transfer, saying there is interest in GU. He's a 6'8 230 PF from NE.

Do we need a transfer PF if we have Lubick coming in next year? I know we need bodies, but if we have Henry, Julian, and Lubick, we have a whole lot of 4's with no 5's.
Let's hope LW is the correct answer to this thread.

This is college basketball, not pros. Look at our national champions this year -- they started 2 PFs, not a C. Look at Nova, Pitt, Marquette, Louisville, Duke, UCLA, USC, Kansas, and on and on -- some of these really only have 1 PF and no C starting. Hell, even right now we really have what should be a PF in Monroe starting at C, though his big enough to play C. In the Princeton especially, it doesn't matter -- you just need 2 interchangeable big guys with skills. If one is big, that's a bonus. There are very few Roys and Thabeets in college (or the pros for that matter).

Let's hope LW is the correct answer to this thread. You could say that about last year and this year's team too though. 3 PF's (Monroe, Sims, Vaughn) and no real center. There aren't a lot of true centers out there who are legitimately good, and when they emerge everybody wants them. Not to mention that a center in III's offense requires some different skills that most centers don't have out of high school. I think you'll see us basically play with 2 PFs out there for the next couple years at least, meaning guys like Lubick, Vaughn, and others will technically play the 5. Chaney may be able to as well. At this point any big is worth considering IMO. To answer the thread I'd guess Sanford. I think they want another guard who can handle and while evaluation is still going on you have to think he's probably the frontrunner. Certainly they want a frontcourt player too, but I think the LW saga still has some time before it gets resolved. And until it does I don't think you will see a commitment from the backup frontcourt options (Jamal O, Sirin etc). Not sure about possible transfers.

Fair point. I don't really mean it offensively, I guess I meant defensively. But point taken.

But defensively, Sims is center-sized and a center-esque shotblocker. He doesn't have the bulk to guard some guys, yet, but defensively he's more of a C than a PF.
