yeah, those are the 3 schools he's looking at. Already visited GTOWN and will visit ASU and Texas tech in next few weeks. then will make a decision.

I like the sounds of this kid. He seems like a Jason Clark type with perhaps a bit better shooting stroke. 6'2" with a 6'7" wingspan, claims "shooting and defense" as his strengths. Also like that he is close to his uncle, Paul Pressey...going up against ASU and Texas Tech, would think Pressey might push Georgetown as a better option (this may be a stretch, but Georgetown was obviously a much more significant player nationally than ASU or Tech during Pressey's day). From an education standpoint, Georgetown stands out. Apparently he is very close to one of ASU's assistants, however. Also, Georgetown is much farther away than his other two options.
With a bunch of schollies seemingly available (or about to become available), I would love to add him to the class late. Provides coverage for Wright should an injury happen next season, at the very least.

I like that JTIII is still fighting for this class. He wants to be better and he wants it now and he knows that he has to have a deeper bench and some fresh blood to do it. Keep up the good work, III!

A few EXCERPTS from Rivals: According to Stevens coach John Hirst, Thompson earned first-team all-region, all-district and all-state honors. .... "Brandon's really been the cornerstone of our program's foundation," Hirst said Thursday. "He's a tremendous person, he comes from a great family and has a great support system. He's really -- as good a player he is, he's probably a better person. He's a very humble, quiet kid, but he's an absolute killer on the court. He's got an absolute poker face, he's never ruffled, he's built for the big game and the big moment. He's a prime time guy." .... Thompson is primarily focusing his interest on Arizona State, Georgetown and Texas Tech, all of which have reportedly offered scholarships. He visited Georgetown officially recently, and has scheduled trips to Texas Tech on April 17, and ASU on April 24. ... Steven's Coach Hirst added: "But I think most often the mistake is made on recruit's part because someone is giving him bad advice and encouraging him to go to the biggest name available as opposed to the best fit for him individually. So our thing is to go through the entire process. He's got some excellent programs that have expressed interest and now it's about trying to find out what is the best fit as a school and program." arizonastate.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=931555

The description reminds me of another recent Hoya we had, he played with a poker face, was a good person with a good background, never shied from a big shot and was mentioned on this board daily this season after another fade down the stretch loss. If we could bring in anyone resembling J-Wal and his attributes I would be all for it. It will be tough to beat out a home state school and ASU, which basically plays the same style as us but is located much closer to Texas.

A return of the Thompson Twins? There were really 3 Thompson Twins, but I guess we all knew that.

This also sounded like Freeman coming out of high school.

This also sounded like Freeman coming out of high school. Are you saying that in a good or a bad way? I would think that's a great thing. If we could get a player of Freeman's level this late in the recruiting game for 2009, I would be really stoked. A starter from his frosh year, averaging 10-13 ppg, a 4-year guy, and still with a lot of room for growth in his last 2 years. I would take this in a second right now.

i think so ID. i think we're looking for more of a PG combo type guard. brandon seems to fit that mold more than Vee. We'll see where brandon decides to go.
