Some video clips from his game against DeMatha in the WCAC quarters. Sirin is #34 in blue. Granted, this is a limited sample size, but I can't say I'm impressed. I thought the jump shot on the 2nd clip was very impressive. The kid came off a screen caught a low pass and took one dribble and got off a very nice looking contested jumpshot. His jumper from three has great form on it also. I found this blurb on a UNC Charlotte website: 9/30/08 2009 Prospects
Gokhan Sirin- If Sirin isn't a pure shooter, then he is awful close to being one. The 6-foot-8, 180-pound face up four man from Turkey started out the day hitting jumpers over small defenders. As the day wore on he got more aggressive with the ball and started making plays off the dribble. Getting stronger is a must for Sirin, who has only been lifting weights for the four weeks that he has been in the States, to be able to defend and rebound at the high major level. His offensive skill level, however, is definitely high major caliber.
In his short time in the United States, Sirin has already been visited by head coaches Bob Huggins and Herb Sendek and assistant coaches from Miami, Pittsburgh, Kansas State and George Mason. The kid put on 24 pounds since approx. Aug of '08 which kind of shows he's dedicated to improving. May be worth the chance

I dont know how a few clips can give anyone any insight into what kinda of player some one will be espicially since none involved him playing any defense or rebounding........ From the clips i can tell one thing that he has over a (Wattad or Nikita) is that he can get his shot off relatively quickly. He doesnt have a slow release. And he looks the part that he can be a 3/4 type player. I say if alot of other stuff falls thru. he doesn't look like a bad option.

I would like to hear from someone who has seen him in person or see a larger sample of vids but he certainly looks like an option. Dense, outside of LW or Vee who else is there for 2009?

Well with today's news i'd look at this guy as maybe playing the 5 as a back-up on offense and playing the PF on defense as a possiblity. with his shooting ability, and he looks like he can handle, i think he cn play like a Kit Mueller did back in the day for Princeton. hit the occasional outside jumper and make the offense a little more lethal.....i know this is all a little hyperbolic.....but i do see potential of using a face up big like this in our offense.
