Jose Garcia verballed to Richmond. Kyle McAlarney verballed to Notre Dame.
I didn't expect to get McAlarney, but thought we had a good shot at Garcia. Sniffs of Shan Foster here.

I don't think JT III was that impressed with Garcia and so he backed off of him.

McAlarney is going to a good school for his game. ND likes those combo-shooters like Quinn, Thomas, etc.... so good luck to him. Garcia surprised me by pulling the trigger this early, but good luck to him. Seems like a classy kid and he's going to play for a very good coach/fun style to watch in Jerry Wainwright. I don't buy the fact we backed off, sometimes kids feel comfortable somewhere else or have reasons that make a particular school best for them. I'm not the least worried about Hoya recruiting with what JT III is doing. Hoya staff is out recruiting aggressively and we'll get some good players.

What? Did you just actually wish "good luck" to a player who is going to Notre Dame? Richmond OK, but Notre Dame? Home of the Human Mock Turtleneck?
Jizzy Crizzy, it really IS a kinder, gentler RDF these days.

no announcement from Galindo at the point, other than the comment from Rivals yesterday after the Hariston press conference where they talked to Galindo. He said that Kansas is the leader at this point. I would figure will announce his decision early next week.

I have to say, I don't know what the situation was but I think losing garcia is a real loss, I dont care how he played in his last tourney, I thought he was a real good match for gtown. I wonder what exactly happened? I would be suprised if we just lost interest, I mean this guy has been on our radar for a while. Is there anyway to find out from sports info what our final deal was with garcia. Havent posted in a while, I have just been reading behind that scenes, but its good to be back. Matt

Matt He was on our radar for a while, but we have a brand new coach. Maybe JTIII did not like what he saw. I have no idea what happened, but our current radar has not been around very long.

According to recruiting web sites Gtown never offered Garcia. That's supposedly according to Garcia himself. And the Hoyas tried to set up a visit with McAlarney yesterday but he apparently wanted to get his recruitment over with and decided to make a decision. Notre Dame was the choice which didn't surprise me. Back in early April the insiders of the Terps' Rival site mentioned that the Irish were the clear leaders for McAlarney.

I don't know, the north shore. Oh, it would have worked!" SO GOOD
