I don't think the loss to St. John's affects our seeding. I think we would be an 11 seed either way based on these predictions below.
PREDICTED SEEDING: 1 Louisville 16-2 (beat Seton Hall, win at WVU) 2 Pittsburgh 15-3 (beat Marquette and UConn) 3 Connecticut 15-3 (lose at Pitt) 4 Villanova 13-5 (beat Providence) 5 Marquette 13-5 (lose at Pitt, beat Cuse) 6 Syracuse 10-8 (lose at Marquette) 7 Providence 10-8 (lose at Nova) 8 West Virginia 10-8 (beat DePaul, lose to Louisville) 9 Cincinnati 9-9 (beat Seton Hall) 10 Notre Dame 8-10 (beat St. John’s) 11 Georgetown 7-11 (beat DePaul) 12 Seton Hall 6-12 (lose at Louisville, lose at UC) 13 St. John's 6-12 (lose at ND) 14 South Florida 5-13 (win at Rutgers) 15 Rutgers 1-17 (lose to USF) 16 DePaul 0-18 (lose at WVU, lose at GU)

But given head to head losses to both, if Seton Hall or SJU wins another game, we'll be the 12 seed? And if they both win another game, we'll be the 13, correct?
(Hardly inconceivable, Seton Hall has two games left to play, only one against a tourney team. And St. John's has already beaten Notre Dame this season.)

Yes, that's true but they're all away games for both teams. The most likely might be Seton Hall winning at UC after losing at Louisville.
Although, I think it's just as likely a 12 seed could be a better path than an 11 seed as vice versa, with so many good teams so close together in seeding.

Fortunately this isn't last year and we're not sweating the possibility of not making the BET at all. Who'da thunk it would have mattered for us?

Yeah, if SJU and Seton Hall win, we wouldn't make a 12-team tournament. Ridiculous we're even in this position. We're so much better than the teams seeded right above us.

Let's be fair...the three teams seeded immediately above us went 4-0 against us. If we wanted to be seeded above them, we should've beaten them.

That's what I mean. How did we let those teams go 4-0 against us? I would say UC's best win is the road win against us (they beat ND and WVU at home). Seton Hall's best win by far is against us. I don't understand how we can lose to those teams but beat Villanova, Syracuse, Providence...

Updated to include today's games:
PREDICTED SEEDING: 1 Louisville 16-2 (win at WVU) 2 Pittsburgh 15-3 (beat UConn) (Pitt would win tiebraker, beating UConn twice) 3 Connecticut 15-3 (lose at Pitt)
4 Villanova 13-5 (beat Providence) (what's the tiebraker here? - split series) 4 Marquette 13-5 (beat Cuse)
6 Syracuse 10-8 (lose at Marquette) (what's the tiebraker here?) 6 Providence 10-8 (lose at Nova) 6 West Virginia 10-8 (lose to Louisville)
9 Cincinnati 9-9 (beat Seton Hall) 10 Notre Dame 8-10 (beat St. John’s) 11 Georgetown 7-11 (beat DePaul)
12 Seton Hall 6-12 (lose at UC) (tiebraker? split series) 12 St. John's 6-12 (lose at ND)
14 South Florida 5-13 (win at Rutgers) 15 Rutgers 1-17 (lose to USF) 16 DePaul 0-18 (lose at GU)

If all three of Syracuse, Providence and West virginia lose their last games then Providence would be the sixth seed by virtue of their win over Pitt.
If only one of the three win then the winner is obviously sixth. Otherwise if two of three win then, among the winners:
Providence would finish ahead of Syracuse; Syracuse would finish ahead of West Virginia and; West Virginia would finish ahead of Providence.

At this point, the only thing Id like in this season is to get Syracuse in the second round and win the rubber game against them...that is the ideal situation right now.

We must win. Take the 11 seed. This gives us a chance to have South Florida immediately followed by a game against Providence. We can, and should, win both of those games pitting us against UConnvict in the quarters. A win there guarantees us a slot. A loss at least makes a case for a bubble... right?

I think we need to win the BET to get in - anything less, and we're out, and justifiably so.

It is insane to think we're on the bubble with 3 wins. 3 wins doesn't make up for a season of disappointment. Win the BET, that's it.

I don't think it will even come to this, but I'd rather take a shot at Pitt or Louisville instead of UCONN or Marquette in the third round. If we win, then adding Pitt or Louisville is much more intriguing for an NCAA bid than a second win against UCONN or a win against a team that beat us twice in Marquette.

If we make it to the BET finals we will be in the tournament. Making it to the semi-finals probably wouldnt do it

I disagree re the Pitt/Louisville comment. A sweep of UCONN on road/neutral courts would be very very compelling for the committee.

I'm with you sleepy. Have you watched the last two months unfold? We don't deserve it, unless we win the BET.
