Is it wrong that I'm more worked up about the concert tix I have to get at the Wachovia Center at 10AM than the game at 12PM?

I don't know what is beyond "must win," but this game definitely qualifies. Especially since, despite what ESPN's bracketology simulator seems to think, there is nothing to indicate that we have what it takes to win 5 games in five days... especially with 3+ against quality opponents.
That said, this game is winnable just like a lot of the previous games have been "winnable." The talent of this team isn't the question... its the consistency and whether or not we can get Monroe his touches. Villanova isn't a particularly physical team I don't think, so if someone can get Monroe to realize and act upon the fact that he can be the best player on the court, he could dominate this game.

I look forward to this game for no other reason than to watch the matchup of Chris Wright vs Scotty Reynolds. I remember reading a lot on this board how the Hoyas passed on recruiting Reynolds in order to hold the scholarship open for Wright. I know that Reynolds knows this and will come ready to prove a point. Wright knows this too and should come ready to justify why he got the scholarship and Reynolds did not. wright needs to play under control. i love his effort the last few games, but recklessly driving to the basket and throwing up crazy shots isn't the role of a point guard.

Little by little Chris is learning this. He still makes 1 or 2 bad drives a game, but he is generally more under control, and has learned to look to dish for the open 3 more often. Hopefully we will see more Saturday.

What if we win our next five games before falling in the BET? Tournament bound?

Probably bubble at best, 3 wins in BET would be pretty safe, would mean 2 wins over teams going to Ncaa's, plus 'Nova Saturday.

Yeah, bubble at best, and it would be a fair result if we didnt make it. 19-13,10-11 isnt all that special when your only big win since the middle of January is Nova. Even ND crushed L'ville.

You realize that beating Nova AT Nova is a huge win, right? They're currently 22-5, ranked #10/#12 in the rankings and 10th in the RPI. Is that really that much worse than a win at home over a team that's 21-5 and the #6/#6 team in the rankings and #11 team in the RPI?

We're in with 5 in a row. The problem with these academic exercises is everyone thinks "What if we become the 2-9 team that wins 5 in a row?"
That's not how it works. If we win 5 in a row, we're the team that got hot at the right time. The 5-game losing streak from 12-3 to 12-8 is ancient history. Also
19-13, 8-10 in the toughest conference #1 (or 2 or 3) SOS RPI in the 30s 5 Top 50 wins 8-8 road/neutral 6-4 last 10
Oh yeah, we'd also probably be, what's that called, PLAYING WELL so yeah, clearly in.

why stop at winning 5 in a row...lets win 8 in a row
everythings possible on the interent
seriously though...just talking about this game vs nova
i think the more scottie is on the court increases the chances of a hoyas win...he almost blew the syracuse game by himself

Gonna be a tough game but at this point the team has to know that they are basically out of it. Play loose and relaxed and hope for the best. It's playin with house money (except in a bad way) now.

Just wondering what in the world makes people think this team can go up to Philly and beat a top-tier team?
I mean, I try to be as optimistic as I can, but I just don't see it.

This is a tough game and a tough matchup.
Everyone is mentioning Reynolds, but nobody mentions the absolutely sensational year that Dante Cunningham has had, or the great improvement shown by Corey Fisher, or the shooting stroke of Corey (you know, the other Corey), or the toughness of Dwayne Anderson.
Nova's deep, talented, they have guys that get in the lane off the dribble, shooters, an elite big and elite guard play.
With the way we've played defense this season. I don't see how we can stop them

The fact that this is college basketball and anything can happen. The fact that Providence beat the number one team in the country this week. The fact that this is the same group of guys that went up to Uconn and beat an even better team. The fact that we are due for one opponent to have an off game against us. The fact that if you keep putting in the effort they have the last three games, eventually something good will happen.

Sleepy,
This is not the same group that beat UConn or memphis. That group would've never lost the games we've lost this season.
That UConn win was another lifetime ago.

Are they playing as well? No. Are they the same group? yes. They played the same way against Memphis as they have played these last three games, the only difference is Memphis doesn't have the expierence to capitalize on our inexpierenced mistakes.

Maybe the same group physically....
Mentally, I would disagree...
