I'll take the under on whoever said "90% of 1st round picks are from high major programs." When you consider non-Americans in the draft, there's absolutely no way 90% of the first rounders are from high major programs.

Bill Russell and KC Jones--San Francisco. I'd say the most dominant player EVER to play a team sport should be mentioned.
Anyone notice the history the Dons have had since he left? Quintin Dailey is only guy I can think of worth anything--but most of us know his off the court exploits hurt him.

What is funny about Lance and latavius is that they do not really have anywhere else to go. They don't really want to go to memphis.

Forget discussing whether or not HoyaTalk has jumped the shark, let's debate whether or not this thread has jumped the shark. My vote: Yes, about 28 pages ago. I think we are hell bent on getting to 50 pages no matter what.... and now i have added to the madness whoops it is only because 2X the number of pages we fall short of 50 will be our end of year 2010 ranking in the ap poll.

Has one high school player ever expressed such infatuation with another high school player without them ever having played together? This budding bromance is getting out of control already.

I know the bball program was actually shut down for many years and reinstated in the late eighties. I believe it had to do with an alleged on campus rape. Bill Cartwright also played for the Dons. USF was known as Big Man U before we were.

Serious question: what is the deadline that Latavious has to make a decision by? I originally thought I read somewhere that it was May 20th, but that is obviously not the case. I just want to know so that I can come back on that day and find out because he is obviously waiting until the last second to make up his mind.

Good questions, especially since he would be coming in in the fall. I know he is a huge star basketball player , but doesn't he still have to apply and get accepted to the school that he would be playing for?

Technically, we could be waiting until the fall.

First of all, we offered Latavious very long ago. So enough talking about whether III offered him. Second of all, if his entire camp wants him to play at Gtown and he wants to go play with "Born Ready," they both should realistically play here then. Going to Memphis to play with Lance Stephenson is about the dumbest thing I've ever heard. He's certainly not one of the best in the country at making the people around him better unless you mean by him scoring 100 a game and his team winning by 2....Latavious can do what he wants but all I know is that someone in the top 40 of their class better take that schollie or I won't be happy. We've been on all of our kids except for Latavious for a long time, all of our '10 targets were first targeted by us. And yet we get no respect from them. So if they don't want to come here then they shouldn't waste our time when it's clear that they're not seriously considering us in the first place. Rant over. You clearly do not know what you are talking about. Rant over. Not a rant by my standards but seriously, explain it to me.

I think we can lock this thread since Latavious is not coming to Georgetown. No inside information but the tea leaves are clear.

You clearly do not know what you are talking about. Rant over. Not a rant by my standards but seriously, explain it to me. well, you were the one who called it a rant. So, here are the facts: 1. Latavious has not gotten his scores back yet. 2. Before a student athlete gets his test scores any visit is an unofficial visit which are paid for on the player's own dime. 3. Latavious goes to school in Texas, resides in Mississippi and yet has taken the time and cost to take 2 unofficial visits to GTOWN, 1 to FIU, and Zero to Memphis 4. Latavious is quoted as saying he will ONLY visit Memphis if Memphis pays for the visit. seems like Latavious likes one of these schools more than the other.

The latest is that Lance Stephenson's Dad is claiming that his son has narrowed his choices to Arizona and Maryland but will not decide on the school until after his June 29th court date. I guess that means that either Latavious is making the move to Memphis solo, or he better kiss JTIII's *ss to get back into his good graces.

John Wall also had his SAT flagged and now has to do a retake like Brandon Jennings did last year. Of course Wall is spinning it publicly that he just wants to retake the SAT because he wants a better test score. This is the same guy that skipped class to break into someone's house.
