???I think it should now be clear that there will be some serious turnover after this season. Comments on who is leaving and who is coming would be appreciated. Also if you are top prospect, why exactly would you want to come to GU now? I know there will be some strong opinions, but this is where we should be or will be looking in a few weeks anyway. I hope we can at least beat St. John's. I would have laughed at anyone who thought that was a serious concern 4 weeks ago.....

Good luck with that, they aint gonna let you talk about who is leaving (via transfer at least) and there ain't any superstars coming.
Nobody on this team is even remotely ready for the NBA. DaJuan has a good NBA body and he's a pretty good shooter for a guy his size--that's it. Can't drive at all, does not make people around him better ala Jeff, does not post up or have any moves down low, and he's not a very good defender. He's Donte Greene but a little bulkier. If he goes he might get taken in the first based strictly on how terrible this draft class is, but as of right now there is no way he'd even set foot on an NBA court, and if it wasnt such a down year he'd be a second rounder who might not even make a team. He really should come back, whether he does or not.

If a tough stretch is enough to convince a player to transfer or leave early, we don't want them any way.
I think we have good kids who just aren't gelling this season for whatever reason. But speculating about transfers right now is just idiotic and counterproductive.

The concern is that these kids aren't jelling because we don't have a squad CAPABLE of playing as a unit.

I don't think this group is going anywhere soon. But, what will change for the better next year? Who'll be the leader next year? Have we seen someone on the team capable of being a true leader next year?
BTW, I hope it's inexperience, but you cannot say that for Summers, Sapp and Freeman. For them, it's more a lack of cojones!!!
This team needs an enema. Get a 2009 recruit!

Wright played great today -- and Summers might not as well have shown up.
It's not the same guys every game, folks. The only "big recruit" on our team that has seemed to play good team ball every game is Monroe.

Funny, they seemed capable of playing as a unit against Memphis, UConn and Syracuse Memphis is pretty mediocre this year, and it took OT to beat them at home. UConn was tired from reading their press clippings. And we shot lights out against both UConn and SU. Talk to me when we win a game in which we don't shoot well, but find a way to win.

What worries me about our recruiting is we don't have any recruits.
By that I mean, I still have no idea what our strategy is right now. With Hollis here already, we have 11 guys with at least one gone, two more at risk, and who knows about transfers.
And we seemingly have nobody in the '09 pipeline when we could be recruiting like crazy already. It's very strange. Are we going JuCo? Right now our best case scenario is a 10-man team.

"Funny, they seemed capable of playing as a unit against Memphis, UConn and Syracuse "
Many argue that winning the games you listed, and losing to lesser opponents is a sign of POOR coaching as the players can "get up" for marque games by themselves

I agree 100%, but by the time the juco player learned "the system" his college career would be over

It appears that we are recruiting based on the number of stars behind a kids name rather that if he can run "the system"
