His Evaluation
November, 2007: Shaquille is a very long and skilled athlete. He is a natural wing with all the tools to be very good. He is a good ball handler for his size. He has the ability to create a shot and get to the basket. He is not always aggressive which leads to him often times be unproductive. He is a solid shooter to 19 feet. He definitely needs to gain strength and aggressiveness to realize his immense potential. He is soft on offense and defense. He has the physical capabilities to be a very good defender. Again, strength and aggression will make him better in this area.
April, 2008: At a wiry 6-6, this right-handed prodigy really excels in transition. A true scorer. His IQ and athleticism are noticable to all newcomers. He has the abilty to shoot the 3-pointer, but will need to improve his range and consistency. Having good ball skills and a smooth approach, Thomas has shown flashes of brilliance. With superior length, above average on the ball defense and servicable rebounding abilty, Thomas is a must follow this summer. A current mid-major prospect, Shaq's level will be determined by his physical maturity and mental toughness.
June, 2008: Shaquille is very long and very athletic. He has always been very talented and full of potential but in the past he has been passive. That is starting to change! Shaq has a decent stroke on his jumper and has range to 20 feet. His off the dribble game is decent but once he puts the ball on the floor he tends to try to drive all the way to the basket. He needs to develop an in between game. He is very long so he is an able defender. He just needs to increase his effort on that end of the floor. He is a capable rebounder though strength would increase his efficiency there.
