see link at sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?page=2005bubblewatchI don't think its bad to be on the bubble at this point in the season, at the end of the season you don't want to be on the bubble, you want to be a lock, but with this many games to play I think its fine. The commentary that we are "Very much in the mix" is right on, ESPN doing well for a change.

They have Pitt down as a lock. No way. Their only two decent wins were against Cuse and UCONN (itself a bubble team). And they've lost to Bucknell, St. John's and the Hoyas (2 of which were at Pittsburgh).
Hoyas need to beat Nova again when they come here because it's likely that we'll be fighting with them and Pitt for the last 1 or 2 NCAA berths and sweeping the 3 games against those teams would be HUGE.

Just looking at the ACC logo at the top of that page made me think - how exactly will the ACC modify their Souteastern section of the US map to incorporate the state of Massachusetts? theacc.collegesports.com/

I also saw that on bracketology Lunardi has us as the #9 Seed facing #8 Depaul. Its good to know we are still in the bracket. Kansas would be the top team in that bracket and by the transitive theory we could beat them.

Sorry to be the mid-major whistleblower, but what has Pacific done other than win a game last year?
They'll get the automatic so it won't matter much, but 2 top 100 wins (Nevada and Utah St.) doesn't impress me at all.
Their hot, but is anyone else not buying Utah either? The MWC is terrible. As a full court subscriber and a grad student who doesn't have class until 1pm, I know.

That way the entire conference is represented.

Pitt is in boys unless they stumble. Their past few years and ranking would get them in if the season ended today. I think we need to worry about Rutgers, WV and then stealing one from Nova, ND, or UConn. PC crushing UVA helps a bit because people will realize what a fraud the lower tier ACC teams are (& Clemson over the Terps).

Pitt stumbling could happen pretty easily-they have road games at Nova, BC, Cuse and ND as well as a home game against UConn and against ND. That's just a brutal schedule w/ a lot of chances to trip up. Would it be that surprising if they finished 1-5 or 2-4 in those six games?

This is my first post after reading this board for years!
Anyway, one of the bigger games for us, assuming we take care of business the rest of the way winning the games we should win (i.e. St. Johns in MSG, Seton Hall..) and come up short on the other games is the Notre Dame- UCLA game. I think the last spot (unless we both get in) will come down to us and Notre Dame. Should Notre Dame and us stay on the same pace, A ND loss would help us out alot. If we outplay ND the rest of the way (including win at ND), then a ND win over a Pac-10 team will continue to help us.
on a side note, anyone hear Kornheiser talk highly about the Hoyas. The last 4 or 5 shows post-hoya games he has mentioned how impressed he is with us and he would be surprised if we did not make tournament. Nice to hear, even if Tony's sports knowledge is marginable at best...
