Another newspaper in bankruptcy--this time in Minneapolis: www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5iBBIf_8lTEpNPx9RUpFsZ9TSGHIwD95O2I9G0Bad news by the barrel: the (Denver) Rocky Mountain News may close as early as next week if no buyers are found, and the Seattle Post-Intelligencer is on a 60 day notice that it will be closed without a buyer. The Detroit News and the Detroit Free Press will only print three days a week by this spring. Prediction: before 2009 ends, we will see one or more major U.S. cities without a daily printed newspaper.

Rob Parker alluded to the reduced publishing schedule as one reason he resigned from the Detroit paper. To say that industry is in trouble is an understatement.
