Here's a question for the recruiting gurus: with anywhere from 3 to 5 open scholarships for 2009, when would you consider panic time for recruiting? are a good percentage of 2009 recruits still unsigned? are there examples of past recruits who signed "late"?

The staff never intended to get a big class in 2009. People will argue all day about whether the staff wanted more than Hollis and DaShonte, but I'm confident in saying that the staff was fine only bringing in two and while they probably would have brought in more, it would not have been for warm bodies or out of need.
They've obviously put their sights on using more scholarships in 2010 and 2011.
That said, I imagine there's some real scrambling for a big man if they expect Greg to jump. Without DaShonte, we could be left extraordinarily thin there.
There are usually a couple of decent spring guys, but they have to be interested in you and it can be very hit and miss.
