Georgetown, what is best in life?
To crush Connecticut To see them driven before you And to hear the lamentations of Jim Calhoun!
Thank you Santa. Thank you.
On a more serious note, the claim that Greg is the best freshman in the nation may no longer require additional supporting evidence. Amazing game.

Holy crap!!!!! Chris Wright is ridiculous. Greg Monroe is ridiculous. DS and AF are beyond clutch. Jessie is ONIONS!!! Perfect game. Perfect game plan. Jt3 is numero uno bar none. Early in the first half watching Greg stretch HT's range I knew we were in for a dogfight. YYYYYYYYEEEEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! So darn good!!!!!! THA-BEETdown!!!!!!!!

Some had forgotten that the road to the Big East title goes through Washington, D.C, we reminded them...

Calhoun's looking like he's 90 years old these days. I think he gained another 2 years tonight. Great SHOW by the hoyas. How can you be a basketball fan and not enjoy watching this team perform. It is absolutely a thing of beauty. JTIII is the Maestro.

I'd take what Julian gave in the first half.
2nd half, not so much.
But overall, he's been showing improvement and a willing to mix it up down low.

No Hands Thabeet has been poor in every game this season against a ranked opponent.

Thanks to Jim Calhoun for basically playing no zone tonight. Big dummy.

I know Julian had a couple of boneheaded plays (the goaltending call, the 3pter), but I thought he was crucial today. He got beat on the boards a couple of times, but he really came in and gave us big minutes on the defensive end. I know he was protected to an extent in our 2-3 zone, but had he not been up for the task, Greg's 3rd foul could have been a real turning point in the game. Great job by JTIII to use offense/defense so early, but Julian provided some grit. That's what we need out of him.
Also, I loved our zone today. It reminds me a little of John Chaney's old 2-3 matchup zone in the sense that if the other team does get past the 2 guards up top, our guards always flow back to try and get a hand on the ball. I was surprised at how much we were able to turn UConn over out of that zone.

I REALLY wish DaJuan finished that dunk on Thabeet at the end. You know he wanted that so bad. Even Bilas said so.

Tremendous performance from the BIG 5! Our starters can play with anyone. What I love about everyone on the team is the heart and fearlessness each one plays with. Terrific as a fan to see a group of guys really stand by one another and play with toughness while not particpating in the chest-pounding theatrics we see from some other top teams, especially annoying when they are losing. The play by play guy and Bilas actually specifically made that point tonight, I think he called it our old-school style.
I completely agree with ESPN's halftime analysis about UConn, the talent is there, but where is the hunger? We punched them in the mouth right from the start and when they started to make a serious run they wilted under a few fantastic Hoya defensive stops.
By the way, how ugly does this get if Adrien is not there for UConn. The rest of those guys looked downright beaten and lost.

That was the best zone I've ever seen us play. We really confused them with it tonight.

I'm glad they stopped going to him.

Adrien was the only one who showed up to play tonight for the Huskies. I thought Price was going to get off when he hit those two early threes, but he was quiet for the rest of the game.

Bilas at the end made a comment that was essentially that Georgetown came out swinging (and first - he was emphatic about that), UConn hit back but Georgetown didn't buckle (the words on screen thing mistranslated it as "wuckle").
This is bigger less for who we beat or where we beat them and more for the fact that we didn't start the season 0-3.

Bilas was just chock full of great quotes tonight. Another one (aside from the great ones already mentioned) was [the Hoyas] "may get beat, but they won't beat themselves" when talking about what poise we were showing.
