why do you find it frustrating? nova won't be any better than us....not by a long shot. And I'd hardly call them the team to beat just because of cheek.

i don't think so. Yarou is just going to replace cunnigham next year. Otherwise they will have a crowded backcourt b/c reynolds is not going pro. it will more of the same from them. wright just lets his guard run wild. Great recruiter but just OK basketball coach.

As long as we get who we want, I'll take our players and III over anyone else. Cheek was going to play college ball; might as well play in the Big East.
Furthermore, we need monster classes for schools like Marquette and Villanova. Continuing prominence of other non-FBS schools will help keep the conference together, and if it does split, it means we bring some good schools with us.

Asked the primary reason for his decision, Cheek said, “Like I said, loyalty. Villanova was great to me.”
I hope other recruits value loyalty as highly ::coughRoscoecough::

We need some monster recruiting classes of our own. And really soon! If we were to lose Summers and/or Monroe this year? Next year would be very challenging. Gotta lock up some major players a la Monroe, Wright, Freeman, Summers. GO JT3!!!

Cheek is very good, and being from Jersey City I have a bias towards the St. Anthony kids, but I 'll tell you what, the rankings and the hype don't matter as long as JTIII keeps bringing in the players he has been bringing in. I'll take a Jason Clark or a Chris Wright every year, and they are every bit as good a Dominic Cheek.

Filo ... I never knew you where from JC .... thats cool ... I'm from South Jersey but I've been in North Jersey for over 15 yrs .... My buddy works for St. Anthony's and is very close to Mr. Hurley and the program .. Cheeks would have went to KU with his buddy Ty Taylor .. but they did the OKIE DOKE and he felt like they where playing games .. I'm excited he stayed in the B.E and I look forward to watching him play in our league ... the Friars have a good team again this year and alot of youngings coming up ... at any rate .. your point about JTIII bringing in great players is right on - not only that , but great local players - which is most important .... the DMV area has produced some talent as of late and the future looks even better ... I think we're building a great program and I only want players that wanna be here. on that note - BEAT THE TIGERS!! HOYA SAXA

my high school just played against st anthony's three days ago we knew that knew we were going to loose, but cheek didnt even do that good. he played the entire game and had 6 points. he was probobly 3 of 10 shooting. with a couple of 3's that hit the side the backboard.
