I have no insight into the recruiting of the program, but I came across this and thought it was at leat worthy of some discussion:
I read today (12/9) in the San Diego Union-Tribune that Jeff Withey, a seven footer who goes to U of AZ, has stopped practicing with the team and will transfer. He participated in no games with the team and will likely be eligible Fall 2009. After reading this, I went to his rivals page and noticed that he had Georgetown listed as his possible schools. He had previously committed to Louisville, before decomitting and signing with Az. I don't recall him being listed as someone with much interest in the Hoyas, but any chance we're on him now?

Was mentioned on an ESPN blog. Apparently he says he's going to concentrate on the Kansas and UT, both of which apparently recruited him heavily earlier.

In the article, it had a quote from the mom about "learning the new system." This quote seemed interesting to me because of the teams on his list, we are we known for having a "system". I'm sure its just me looking at it from a GU point-of-view, but still something to chew on. Academically, he is finishing out the semester at AZ, but to avoid any additional hatred among his fellow students, I would doubt he will say where he is going until the winter break. His family moved to Tucson to be close to him, so this may also be a factor in his ultimate decision. It says he plans on enrolling in his new school for the spring semester, so I'm sure things will move quickly once he finishes the term.

Lic will like him - a 7 footer! Just watched a highlight reel of him on youtube - mainly swats and dunks but a couple nice moves where he drives to the hoop.

Love the fact that there's no place for high-maintenance kids here.
