No good piece ever includes the words "So let's not use the constitution as an excuse."

(To facilitate discussion: mobile.washingtonpost.com/detail.jsp?key=322515&rc=to&p=1&all=1)"It is no more unconstitutional to say players can't own guns than it is to say they must be subjected to drug testing when there is no evidence they have used drugs, or saying they can be fined for speaking their mind about officiating." Ah, well it's good to see he's overcoming an incredible lack of qualifications by making broad (not to mention incorrect) pronouncements about the US Constitution. Who knew he was a First, Second, Fourth, and Fourteenth Amendment scholar? My level of respect just shot up like a lead balloon.

He really needs to get out of Montgomery County more often.

He really needs to get out of Montgomery County more often. What does that even mean? Is there a dire need for militias in Allegany or Garrett Counties? A very strange column - scapegoating everyone from Obama to Dan Snyder to owners, for what? Feinstein never makes the connection as to what the connection of guns and sports are, or why the sports world needs to tackle the problem, and he drags Sean Taylor into his argument, who was not armed but was wielding a machete at the time that he was shot according to Wikipedia.

He who must not be named is obviously an "elite east coast snob". He hit all the notes: gun control, Rush Limbaugh, abortion, religion and the Iraq War. Only thing missing was why Georgetown will not schedule Maryland. Guess that comes in the next stanza.

"You'd like to think that most of them are licensed to do that, but I'm not sure that's always the case."
Most likely, it is not the case more often than not.
He also seems to have done research into gun licenses in the NFL. More likely, he just assumes that athletes are black, and black people carry unlicensed guns. This sentence isn't written if it's Dan Marino caught with a shotgun.

So, let me get this straight. A man (allegedly) violated the law, will (probably) be punished for doing so, and Feinstein is upset? May I ask why?

"You'd like to think that most of them are licensed to do that, but I'm not sure that's always the case."
Most likely, it is not the case more often than not. Does he use an implied double negative here? I have never seen this sentence structure--it couldn't be more idiotic.
