American just lost to Mount St. Marys.
Will they give us a tougher fight than UMCP? I say yes.

They will be harder than UMCP but we will continue our dominance over the DC area.

Loss to Mount St. Mary's aside, American has an experienced club that went to the NCAAs last year. Given the timing (a week off, then a week to Memphis, right?), it has some markings of a trap game. Not saying we'll lose or even struggle, but this is probably the hardest "cupcake" game on our schedule.

American just lost to Mount St. Marys. Will they give us a tougher fight than UMCP? I say yes. yes they will, but mostly because they play within their game and dont try to play like a top team like maryland does. should be an entertaining game (if not a competative one), the AU guards are fun to watch. Are Mercer and Carr still there or did one graduate?

OK, my sarcasm went undetected apparently.

It would be difficult for anyone to give us LESS of a fight than UMCP did, so I do expect a hard-fought competitive effort from American, and some very good guard play from Mercer & Carr (both seniors).
It should be a good game for them to get ready to take down the Twerps in a few weeks.
(Are you kidding? This baby is off the CHARTS!)

Interestingly, I think American has the distinction of playing the most Sports Bog's A-11 opponents of any team in the area. I applaud their commitment to a fictional conference created by a blogger.
I count 7 A-11 opponents: Howard (W 65-63) Mount St. Mary's (L 57-52) Georgetown (12/6) GW (12/17) UMBC (12/20) UMD (12/22) Navy (1/28) Navy (2/25)

This is a revenge game for Brian Gilmore, so we have to watch out for him. According to his harem of sloots from the AU volleyball team who were sitting next to me at the Kenner league, he was upset that he wasn't getting enough run on the Tombs.

We don't want to underestimate Jeff Jones and his boys, but this game should be a great opportunity to get a serious tune-up from a decent opponent. AND... to work in Julian and Henry, get more minutes for Jason. These are the games to test and develop the bench, and for JT3 to learn who he can trust on the floor.
Not convinced about Omar yet either.
Long way to go before we'll be ready for Memphis.

True enough. On the other hand, Memphis has a long way to go before they'll be ready for Georgetown! (Here's hoping they don't master the 15 foot set shot in the next 10 days.)
