I was just wondering if anybody else is having trouble with their avatar not coming up.Mine is showing a little x on it!!

It looks like the actual image link is fine, so either something in your settings is incorrect, or whoever owns the website blocked your access to the image.
EDIT: It seems to be working again.

it is difficult to get a JPEG on a personal computer to appear as an avatar. i dont know how to transfer one to a webpage (which appears to be a prerequisite) can someone enlighten me?

Upload the photo to flickr or facebook, then view the properties of the photo when its on one of those sites and paste the web address here.
