------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: FW: OBAMA'S 'NOT EXACTLY'S' PLEASE READ, VERY ACCURATE The statements/quotes below are noted with resources. Attorney's name below who has put this list together. WE NEED TO REMEMBER THE TRUTHS AND "NOT" BE FOOLED BY HIS GLIB TONGUE!
OBAMA'S 'NOT EXACTLY'S' 1.) Selma Got Me Born - NOT EXACTLY, your parents felt safe enough to have you in 1961 - Selma had no effect on your birth, as Selma was in 1965. (Google' Obama Selma ' for his full March 4, 2007 speech and articles about its various untruths.)
2.) My Father Was A Goat Herder - NOT EXACTLY, he was a privileged, well educated youth, who went on to work with the Kenyan Government.
3.) My Father Was A Proud Freedom Fighter - NOT EXACTLY, he was a " communist " economist and part of one of the most corrupt and violent governments Kenya has ever had.
4.) My Family Has Strong Ties To African Freedom - NOT EXACTLY, your cousin Raila Odinga has created mass violence in attempting to overturn a legitimate election in 2007, in Kenya. It is the first widespread violence in decades. The current government is pro-American but Odinga wants to overthrow it and establish Muslim Sharia law. Your half-brother, Abongo Obama, is Odinga's follower. You interrupted your New Hampshire campaigning to speak to Odinga on the phone.
Obama's cousin Odinga in Kenya ran for president and tried to get Sharia muslim law in place there. When Odinga lost the elections, his followers have burned Christians' homes and then burned men, women and children alive in a Christian church where they took shelter.. Obama SUPPORTED his cousin before the election process here started. Google Obama and Odinga and see what you get. No one wants to know the truth.
5.) My Grandmother Has Always Been A Christian - NOT EXACTLY, she does her daily Salat prayers at 5am according to her own interviews. Not to mention, Christianity wouldn't allow her to have been one of 14 wives to 1 man.
6.) My Name is African Swahili - NOT EXACTLY, your name is Arabic and 'Baraka' (from which Barack came) means 'blessed' in that language. Hussein is a lso Arabic and so is Obama. Barack Hussein Obama is not half black. If elected, he would be the first " Arab-American President, not the first black President " .
====================
Barack Hussein Obama is 50% Caucasian from his mother's side and 43.75% Arabic and 6.25% African Negro from his father's side. While Barack Hussein Obama's father was from Kenya, his father's family was mainly Arabs.. Barack Hussein Obama's father was only 12.5% African Negro and 87.5% Arab (his father's birth certificate even states he's Arab, not African Negro). From....and for more....go to.....
www.arcadeathome.com/newsboy.phtml?Barack_Hussein_Obama_-_Arab-American,_only_6.25%25_African
7.) I Never Practiced Islam - NOT EXACTLY, you practiced it daily at school, where you we re registered as a Muslim and kept that faith for 31 years, until your wife made you change, so you could run for office.
==============================
4-3-08 Article 'Obama was 'quite religious in Islam ''http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=60559
8.) My School In Indonesia was Christian - NOT EXACTLY, you were registered as Muslim there and got in trouble in Koranic Studies for making faces (check your own book).
February 28, 2008. Kristoff from the New York Times a year ago: Mr. Obama recalled the opening lines of the Arabic call to prayer, reciting them with a first-rate accent. In a remark that seemed delightfully uncalculated (it'll give Alabama voters heart attacks), Mr. Obama described the call to prayer as 'one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset.' This is just one example of what Pamela is talking about when she says 'Obama's narrative is being altered, enhanced and manipulated to whitewash troubling facts.'
9.) I Was Fluent In Indonesian - NOT EXACTLY, not one teacher says you could speak the language.
10.) Because I Lived In Indonesia, I Have More Foreign Experience - NOT EXACTLY, you were there from the ages of 6 to 10, and couldn't even speak the language. What did you learn, besides how to study the Koran and watch cartoons.
11.) I Am Stronger On Foreign Affairs - NOT EXACTLY, except for Africa (surprise) and the Middle East (bigger surprise), you have never been anywhere else on the planet and thus have NO experience with our closest allies.
12.) I Blame My Early Drug Use On Ethnic Confusion - NOT EXACTLY, you were quite content in high school to be Barry Obama, no mention of Kenya and no mention of struggle to identify - your classmates said you were just fine.
13.) An Ebony Article Moved Me To Run For Office - NOT EXACTLY, Ebony has yet to find the article you mention in your book. It doesn't, and never did, exist.
14.) A Life Magazine Article Changed My outlook on Life - NOT EXACTLY, Life has yet to find the article you mention in your book. It doesn't, and never did, exist.
15.) I Won't Run On A National Ticket In '08 - NOT EXACTLY, here you are, despite saying, live on TV, that you would not have enough experience by then, and you are all about having experience first.
16.) Voting 'Present' is Common In Illinois Senate - NOT EXACTLY, they are common for YOU, but not many others have 130 NO VOTES.
17.) Oops, I Misvoted - NOT EXACTLY, only when caught by church groups and Democrats, did you beg to change your misvote.
18.) I Was A Professor Of Law - NOT EXACTLY, you were a senior lecturer ON LEAVE.
19.) I Was A Constitutional Lawyer - NOT EXACTLY, you were a senior lecturer ON LEAVE.
20.) Without Me, There Would Be No Ethics Bill - NOT EXACTLY, you didn't write it, introduce it, change it, or create it.
21.) The Ethics Bill Was Hard To Pass - NOT EXACTLY, it took just 14 days from start to finish.
22.) I Wrote A Tough Nuclear Bill - NOT EXACTLY, your bill was rejected by your own party for its pandering and lack of all regulation - mainly because of your Nuclear donor, Exel on, from which David Axelrod came.
23.) I Have Released My State Records - NOT EXACTLY, as of March, 2008, state bills you sponsored or voted for have yet to be released, exposing all the special interests pork hidden within.
24.) I Took On The Asbestos Altgeld Gardens Mess - NOT EXACTLY, you were part of a large group of people who remedied Altgeld Gardens. You failed to mention anyone else but yourself, in your books.
25.) My Economics Bill Will Help America - NOT EXACTLY, your 111 economic policies were just combined into a proposal which lost 99-0, and even YOU voted against your own bill.
26.) I Have Been A Bold Leader In Illinois - NOT EXACTLY, even your own supporters claim to have not seen BOLD action on your part.
27.) I Passed 26 Of My Own Bills In One Year - NOT EXACTLY, they were not YOUR bills, but rather handed to you, after their creation by a fellow Senator, to assist you in a future bid for higher office.
28.) No One on my campaign contacted Canada about NAFTA - NOT EXACTLY, the Candian Government issued the names and a memo of the conversation your campaign had with them.
29.) I Am Tough On Terrorism - NOT EXACTLY, you missed the Iran Resolution vote on terrorism and your good friend Ali Abunimah supports the destruction of Israel.
30.) I Want All Votes To Count - NOT EXACTLY, you said let the delegates decide.
31.) I Want Americans To Decide - NOT EXACTLY, you prefer caucuses that limit the vote, confuse the voters, force a public vote, and only operate during small windows of time.
32.) I passed 900 Bills in the State Senate - NOT EXACTLY, you passed 26, most of which you didn't write yourself.
33.) I Believe In Fairness, Not Tactics - NOT EXACTLY, you used tactics to eliminate Alice Palmer from running against you.
34.) I Don't Take PAC Money - NOT EXACTLY, you take loads of it.
35.) I don't Have Lobbyists - NOT EXACTLY, you have over 47 lobbyists, and counting.
36.) My Campaign Had Nothing To Do With The 1984 Ad - NOT EXACTLY, your own campaign worker made the ad on his Apple in one afternoon.
37.) I Have Always Been Against Iraq - NOT EXACTLY, you weren't in office to vote against it AND you have voted to fund it every single time.
38.) I Have Always Supported Universal Health Care - NOT EXACTLY, your plan leaves us all to pay for the 15,000,000 who don't have to buy it
GOD HELP US IF WE JUST SIT IDLY BY AND LET THIS PERSON BECOME OUR NEXT PRESIDENT.IT WOULD BE SUICIDAL FOR US TO DO NOTHING TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING. IT'S TIME THE 'SILENT MAJORITY' TAKE A STAND GET OUT AND VOTE! PLEASE! Richard E. Dixon Attorney at Law 4122 Leonard Drive Fairfax,VA 703 691 0770 fax 703 830 7630 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I don't have any doubt that some of these utilize clever wording, which, if reworded differently could very easily have a positive reflection rather than a negative one. Furthermore, with regards to relatives and their views, I would expect that most all of us have at least a couple of relatives with rather radical views. Does that necessarily reflect directly on us? No,not necessarily. However, this man is running for President of the United States. It is reasonable to look into his background. It's reasonably to look into his upbringing. It's reasonable to look into his friends and those he chooses to associate with, as well as what ideas and viewpoints he tends to prefer. All of that bein said, what kind of a take do you all have on these details?

To make a stronger argument, why don't you validate the content of your post with some personal anecdotes and references to conversations with friends?

I stopped reading after this blatant falsehood:
The result of that election was not legitimate. Odinga had it stolen from him and independent election monitors agree with that assessment. Every Kenyan I knew who supported Odinga (and I spent a month there last fall) was Christian and I never once heard of sharia law. Which candidate was more pro-American was never even discussed, and certainly not clear to me while reading daily coverage of the election both there and upon my return. When Obama spoke to Odinga from NH, Kenya was on the verge of civil war following the election and Obama was encouraging peace talks. If this garbage is being spread and believed it is a disgrace.

I won't comment on the content of the original post, but is HoyaTalk really devolving to the point where people post ridiculously long forwarded emails from random people with obvious agendas? C'mon, now. This is pathetic. Agreed. Make a logical, reasoned argument, or Shut up. This isn't a place where you can just drop an email forward as flame bait. Get the hell out of here, you racist moronic interloper.

This forward has been debunked about 9,000 times. Hifi is going to believe whatever he wants to believe. It's pointless to argue with the moron.

I agree, but there's still merit in asking him not to pollute our board with this crap. I feel his next thread will be along the lines of "I'm so important! Look at what this Nigerian treasury official wrote me today..." That, or we're witnessing the beginnings of HiFi's career as a spammer. Look forward to the days of threads titled "Free 4/8/12 Viagr/Cailis pills for u with any purchase bsburn dm0"

Buff, I totally agree that the original author had an agenda. That much is patently clear. However, that shouldn't, in and of itself, warrant a blanket dismissal of all content. As I indicated at the start, there is no doubt that some of the references are really more opinion and selective wording to generate the desired emotional response. In a sense, that would be much like the push polling we discussed ad nauseum last week, but without the polling. Also, as I indicated, any particular view of a particular relative is largely irrelevant to me. However, I also think that there is some validity to some of the underlying implications. Obama is running on a platform, many planks of which are questionable at the least.
Personally, I really don't care about teenage and college age drug use. However passing the blame as being painted into a corner due to ethnic pressures is a bit different. Taking credit for bills which he had little if anything to do with is also a legitimate issue.
Jack, do you have any references for your views on the Kenyan election?
JJLayup, if I had some legitimate personal experience, I would do just that. I don't, so I'm not going to make any up.

Just for EDITS and giggles, I just dialed the phone number at the bottom. To my surprise, there actually is an answering machine for the law offices of Richard E. Dixon, Dick Dixon also sounds like he may potentially be the town drunk. I also found this masterful book review written by the knowledgeable Dick Dixon: www.tjheritage.org/documents/ThomasJeffersonSallyHemings.htmHe's also mentioned here: www.tjheritage.org/directors.htmlAnd again....http://www.angelfire.com/va/TJTruth/trial.html I think this Edited bag should probably stick to Thomas Jefferson and leave 20th and 21st century politics to those who don't practice law out of their basements with bottles of Jameson. As for our resident Edited bag, all political discourse is made worse by the sharing of these nonsense, BS, factually bankrupt emails.

;D
hifi, you and I may share some political viewpoint, but this kind of thing does not help. I said as much to that [bleep] tonydeals, when he kept just posting youtube clip after youtube clip, and this is no different.
Share a link to this and your opinion on it if you want, but this is close to spam. I am thankful that the liberals here do not copy and paste spam from MoveOn, so I hope the conservatives can do the same.
I won't insult you or anything, just saying I don't think this fosters dialogue at all (even nasty dialogue, which I don't mind).

Yes, our financial system is teetering and the Bush Administration is trying to loot the Treasury of trillions of dollars, but what we really should be concerned about is some semantic issue of whether Barack Obama was a Senior Lecturer or a Professor of Law.

Not for Hifi, who doesn't even deserve a response to his universally condemned garbage, but for anyone else who was unaware of what was going on in Kenya in December and January: news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/7176683.stmchinadaily.com.cn/world/2008-01/15/content_6395018.htmAnd I am really annoyed at myself for taking this bait, but I am furious when see those elections results and the violence that ensued used for any type of political attack on Obama. I guarantee that bigot who wrote that email couldn't find Kenya on a map and could not care less about the destruction that occurred in what had been one of Africa's models of economic growth and democracy up until that election.

Yes, our financial system is teetering and the Bush Administration is trying to loot the Treasury of trillions of dollars, but what we really should be concerned about is some semantic issue of whether Barack Obama was a Senior Lecturer or a Professor of Law. See now that's something I think we can debate about, instead of just posting a string of diatribes, some of which are false, some have a shade of truth to them and a few of which are true. Do you believe Obama has misrepresented himself and/or if there are misrepresentations, do you believe they are significant to his being qualified for the office? A perfectly fair topic. But when you post a long string like that, there are going to be so many lies in it, that even if ANY of it is true, it is going to get ignored. Hell, I don't like Obama and even I'm not going to read through that whole mess. Anyway, just trying to be constructive. I am not going to engage in the aforementioned debate, because I have just finished a five-day photo shoot, and just helped the photographer lug about 3,000 lbs of equipment into his truck, so I am going to go home, listen to music and and take a nap. But if you all want to, go ahead.

Boz, tc, strummer et al:
If I had a link rather than an email, then I would have just posted the link. I don't have a personal website either, that I could have linked it to. Sorry about the length of the message.
Boz, you hit the nail on the head when you said some of which are false, some have a shade of truth and some are true. I thought that came through from my notes following the original post, but maybe they didn't. I didn't throw this out there blindly believing all, or for that matter, even any of it. But as I did say, I think some of these areas warrant legitimate concern, while others do not. I didn't expect this to be "well received," thus the title I selected. But I also don't think it's deserving of the knee-jerk "this is 100% bogus email garbage" -- for instance whoever it was that said, "this has been debunked 9000 times."
Jack, thanks for the links. I will go read them in a minute.
Lastly, I do think that pointing out Obama's rather limited international experience is a totally legitimate topic. As for "claimed" Ebony and Life articles, I don't know what to think. My gut instinct is that there is a degree of embellishment that went on in the original claim. Maybe it wasn't "Ebony" but some other magazine. Maybe it wasn't an actual article, but a piece from one of the contributing authors. Who knows. I don't think that trivial cotradictions of that sort really have any weight to them. I will have to see the exact "Selma" quote. I don't think anyone would be so careless as to claim an event in '65 as being in any way resposible for something that happened in '61, but maybe I am wrong.
in any case, I certainly wasn't presenting this 36 item long list as being entirely factual and even many of the "true" events, are worded in such a way as to change the resulting reflection.

Jack, those links didn't really dispute much of what was said, but as Boz and I both mentioned at different points, an entirely different tone can come from two different versions of the same story. The first link basically described the relationship between Obama and Odingo, and then went on to detail the conversations between them later. That is what the original message said. It went on to reach its own conclusions through biased interpretation.
The second link just highlites what appears to be some discrepency, but I remember exit polls that had Gore winning by nearly double digits in some states that he ultimately lost. Obviously anytime there is a seeming discrepency, then it might warrant investigation.
As for the violence, we all agree that violence is bad. We would all prefer to ignore it. What the original post suggested was that Odingo followers were responsible for much of the violence. Your post doesn't really address the topic. Again, I don't have any idea exactly what happened. I wasn't there. But once again, there isn't any significant dispute between the article and the original post, although the authors were clearly coming at the topic from different perspectives.

If you have an issue with half-truths and outright lies, you really can't vote for either candidate.
