Way to go, John McCain. Your years of experience that qualify you to lead this nation better than no other leads to, among other things that need not be rehashed here, this[/url]: So all that preparation for an interview with a Spanish newspaper and you're still confusing the Prime Minister of Spain and the country of Spain for Hugo Chavez-leaning Latin American nations? What confidence does that provide on the issue of your foreign policy experience in combination with your vice-presidential pick?

Really, come on.

Can we get a moratorium on the "this candidate's problem" new threads?
I see this spinning vastly out of control if unchecked. We've got plenty of existing threads for us to throw mud at each other and our respective candidates of choice. We don't need a new one for every blogger in the world who has a gripe.
As for the substance of this one, um, even the interviewer didn't think he didn't know who Zapatero is, so what's your point? If you want to criticize him for dodging the question, go ahead by all means. But the argument that he didn't know is a losing one, I think.

You should have started a "Boz's Problem Thread Problem" thread. But yes, point taken.

As for the question at hand, I have no doubt that McCain either misheard the question or got momentarily confused, and that he does not really advocate for diplomatically snubbing the leader of a country whose territorial integrity we are treaty-bound to defend. Alone, this isn't really anything to jump down his throat about.... .... However, since McCain campaign decided to double-down rather than admit he was confused or misheard the question, it's fair game. Apparently this is long-standing Bush administration policy.
