Maybe i'm a jerk for pointing it out, but: "(I) just recently got into reading. I haven't read too many books yet "
zah?
maybe he's just trying to blend in at Indiana.

This one is pretty bad too...
If you were not playing basketball, is there another sport you thing you could play at the collegiate level? "Honestly, I think I have been blessed with the body that I have - my height, my strength and speed - I think football would definitely be one of them. I played in Texas and a little in Florida as a running back. And I think tennis and baseball too. If I decided to practice and focus on any of those three, I think I could play in college and in the pros."

I also see a lot of Jason Kidd in his game... On the positive side, he still can try out for football, tennis, and baseball at IU. He reminds me of Willie Parker, Federer and A-Rod.

Each does use a round ball and aim at an iron ring 10 feet off the ground. Other than that, the comparisons escape me.

Oh so maybe his horrible basketball play was because he hadn't yet "decided to focus" on the sport yet. He must be joking.

I was putting the Gtown - WVU BET game on to DVD last night and saw Jeremiah hit the side of the backboard on an uncontested three from the corner.
I will really miss stuff like that.

I don't blame a kid for transferring--and Rivers did his best while at Georgetown--which I appreciated. Wish him well and good luck.
That being said--who has done more interviews this offseason--Jim "Bubble Boy" Calhoun or Jeremiah Rivers?

"What is your favorite game/shot/moment playing basketball?"
"In college against North Carolina in the Elite Eight game, I hit some big free throws that helped propel us to overtime and eventually to win that game"
I've watched that game a bunch of times and I do not remember any "big free throws" from Jeremiah. Personally the "good" Rivers memory I'll have is shutting down Johnny Flynn.
And if he wanted to retool for football, he would be a very good DB IMO but I'm sure guys who spin around unecessarily and have poor ball control could do well at RB

Since I'm bored at work, I went back through the box score of that game. J. Rivers was 0-1 from the field and 1-2 from the line. His "big" free throws was actually one "big" free throw that came at the 1:33 mark in the first half and cut the UNC lead to 48-40. I'm not sure what universe that counts as big, but whatever-he's at IU now. sports.espn.go.com/ncb/playbyplay?gameId=274000030I loved his defense while he was here and he actually did help us win some big games this last year because of his effort on that end. Not sure why he was inclined to make this story up. Maybe the box score was wrong, but I'd be surprised if it were.

Are you related to Jeremiah, or are you just trying to agitate people here? I wonder if recruiters at IU just started reading, too. It would explain why they didn't know that Rivers is terrible.

Well, he's certainly not lacking in confidence. And does the MJ book really count as a book? Anyway, I don't remember Jason Kidd having the spin move, fake the pass then turn it over move.

As a point guard, Rivers is the equivalent of Barack Obama as a legislator.
