WWW = World Wide Wes = William Wesley
From ESPN.com/TrueHoop:
Last June, GQ's Alex French published an excellent article about William Wesley. French had been working on it for ages, and got a ton of interesting first-hand information.
At one point he got Memphis coach John Calipari to acknowledge on record that Wesley is "a goodwill ambassador" for the University of Memphis program, which is common knowledge in basketball circles.
And there are a lot of good reasons why young talented players would go to Memphis -- the team is excellent, and more than almost any other, guards on that team get to create scoring opportunities off the dribble, and what top-notch guard wouldn't enjoy that?
The recent suspicion is that if Wesley befriends a young blue chip prospect, that player (like Dajuan Wagner, Chris Douglas-Roberts, and Derrick Rose) has a better than average shot at selecting Calipari's Memphis program.

At least the Memphis program and its boosters are laying low during this period: deadspin.com/5032111/wow-top-basketball-recruits-mom-overcame-190000+1-odds-to-receive-a-call-from-fedexs-ceo"When Oseye Gaddy placed down the phone at her desk, she was unable to contain her excitement. She had just gotten off the phone with the CEO of her company. Out of 190,000 employees throughout the world, FedEx Express president and CEO David Bronczek, one of the company's most influential executives, had chosen to reach out to an ordinary customer service representative, working across the country in Tacoma, Wash. "But Gaddy is hardly your average customer service rep these days. She's also the mother of one of the most highly-sought-after and uncommitted basketball recruits in the country, Abdul Gaddy. And Bronczek is not merely a CEO. He is also a booster of the University of Memphis basketball program."

I think it's crazy but memphis is trying to blame this whole thing on Goodman and Arizona. They're acting like Goodman is out to get them and has been stearing kids clear from Memphis for years. They also are saying that Lute Olson is the one who called Goodman and tipped him off that the booster had contacted Gaddy's mom. How Olson would possibly know that is beyond me. But they're definitely trying to to paint Goodman as the villain in this. Bizzare!

It seems like she would have told anyone with ears that he called her. Memphis is just Editeded that they are being exposed for the sleazy place that it is.

A lot more to this then meets eye--guys. First of all--Olson had a commitment from Gaddy--and is still the "leader" as of right now. So he's recruiting him hard and knows family well--as Gaddy still likes Arizona--he just wanted to know that Olson was still the coach.
More importantly--Olson lost Josh Pastner to Memphis in offseason--Pastner being a former Arizona player/assistant coach and one of the most overrated recruiters in business. All it would take is a tip here/there and Gaddy family mentioning something--and you've got your proof.
Memphis is run by a cheating scumball and they are angry they got caught--in what provides evidence for a MAJOR VIOLATION--and investigation--which would lead to Calipari splitting---as he did at UMass.
Isn't it a great message to send people--don't be angry you are a cheating, lying, scumball program-be mad that you were CAUGHT cheating and then blame others. Gotta love CBB!!!

I think my favorite part of the article is that "Bronczek was unaware of the rules". Um, really? Despite being a member of the Tiger Athletic Advisory Board of Directors, in addition to the Ambassadors Athletic Foundation? If the guy is that smart, FedEx might be in trouble. Comical, and yet nothing will come of it I'm sure.
