I just wanted to take the time to give V-Mack a shout out for playing very well tonight
had four points, four rebounds, but hustled and really made a difference when he was in the game.
hopefully he finds some consistency, because we'll need performances like this next week and (hopefully) beyond

I think Vernon was solid on Thursday against Nova as well--he had 4 rebounds and 3 blocks in that game--he's playing with a lot more urgency/intensity and when he does--he's a fine contributor/shows glimpses of what he can do when given more time. My favorite play-his catch from Wright--court vision to see Sapp wide open opposite corner and great pass for the 3!
Vernon is going to be needed for some minutes at a critical time-and if he plays as he has so far in BET--we'll be singing his praises for doing a nice job. I just hope he's starting to feel more confident considering he's played a bit better each game and now has Pitt--where I felt he made the biggest impact and helped spark a comeback with his scoring/hustle at the PETE earlier this season--he was great on offensive end and really hustled and ran floor hard/bothered Blair. Just hope he duplicates that effort tomorrow when called upon.

Vern had some amazing touches. He's coming into his own.

Wright/Mack can be the college version of Paul/Chandler(if Coach decides to run more)....

Rumor has it that Vern has hired Shaq to mentor him on free-throws.

Vern should go Wilt and shoot FT's underhanded--or Rick Barry if you prefer. Either that or take a jumpshot--it can't be any less of a chance of going in--can it?

vern plays well against pitt.
as an aside, watching him shoot fts in warmups i dont think he concentrates enough. his feet seem too close together and no knee bend. mebbe its cause its warmups but i think in order to improve he has to be less casual and more serious about it.
also, he seems like a really nice guy. too nice. never spoke with him but its just how he carries himself. i think if he got a meaner attitude and more hungry to succeed, he will improve by leaps and bounds. the mental part is a huge part of making the jump to the next level. he needs that hibbert-type inspiration. the guys got the physical gifts just need to toughen the mental.

I think next year.... Wright/Mack can be the college version of Paul/Chandler(if Coach decides to run more).... There's a reason why they play well together. They've done it before - on the Boo Williams Summer League team a couple of years ago that featured Wright, Macklin, G. Vasquez, E. Hayes, S. Reynolds, Duke Crews, Stefan Welsh, and others. Wright became the featured PG, and they played an uptempo style. Wright can create space that Macklin needs to get into his post moves.
