But people like Dick Vitale make it pretty hard for us to give players like Tyler his props. To be fair, Vitale drooled over Kevin Durant last season in exactly the same fashion he has drooled over Hansbrough this season. Personally, I think he's wrong about who the POY should be this season, but Dicky V always backs his opinions with hyperbole. Just one reason he's so annoying.

I mean that's a great story and all, but why should an overachiever win the POY just because he overachieved. Hansborough is the best player on the best team. How is he less valuable to UNC than that other guy for being a much better player? im not saying emmenecker should be national POY but that a player like him (not necessarily in the way his stats are but in the way he plays and the impact that has on his team) that plays for a team that is highly successful. if drake were to make it farther in the tourney than UNC then i think emmenecker (if he had a hand in it) should also be considered a great player of this year (not saying that he should win POY) im not really explaining my self well i suppose and cant think of a better way to, so we can just let it go- its not like hoya talk decides who the POY is

i just went to espn and they have a special about the all time greatest shooting gaurds. well they say that Jordan was "tough" and who is the thoughest player ever- AI. and in case you are blind those are black guys. so someone is call black guys tough too, not just the white ones (even though i agree will freeman). (jordan was #1, AI was #5 by the way)

At least two others seem to agree with Freeman: 1. www.chicagotribune.com/sports/cs-080308-tyler-hansborough-morrissey,0,1829771.column 2. Tyler Hansbrough is College Hoops's Bill Brasky "Tyler Hansbrough once showed me a video of him making love to my wife, and it was the most beautiful thing I ever saw!" "He sweats Gatorade" "If you drop a phonograph needle on Tyler's nipple, it plays the Beach Boys' 'Pet Sounds.'" "They use Hansbrough's foreskin as a tarp when it rains at Yankee stadium." "He wears a live rattlesnake as a condom."

My favorite race influenced commentary of the year was in the ND-Louisville game where Caracter subbed in for Padget and Ayers subbed out for Kurz and Doris Burke remarked "That was a bad move by Brey, that [nearly all white] lineup can't possibly match the speed and strength of Louisville's [all black] atheletes, all those smart guys on the floor won't be of much use" I cringed when Jay Bilas said that Jessie Sapp was "from the street, but he's smart". Does anyone else remember that line? I'm not sure I've got it exactly right.
