Thought I'd make a thread here so that we can post updates on how Jeff is doing over the course of the year with the Sonics. Sonics had an open practice the other day and reviews of Jeff were extremely positive, including: "Jeff Green may have been the steal of the draft. He is crazy athletic and super smooth. He can’t really shoot at all right now, but if he ever learns he is going to be unreal. I just really liked the way he carried himself. " "I have some videos and pictures from the night, and I couldnt believe how good Jeff Green was. Hes a beast." "- J Green is way more athletic than I expected." "- Jeff Green was extremely impressive. It won't be long before he is *the* leader on this team. He was very vocal, especially defensively, and he played hard. He fits in very well with the fast-break offense - he sorta reminds me of a rich man's Antoine Walker or Billy Owens, or even Derrick McKey. One particular play he was behind Wilcox by a couple of steps and ended up beating him down the floor for an easy finish. He sorta reminds me of the kid in the neighborhood growing up who might not have been the biggest kid but his team always won. Green has that confident, competitive demeanor." All from Sonics fans here: realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=715114&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=12Sonics have their first preseason game tomorrow night against the Kings.

Can't shoot at all. That's funny. I might buy the League Pass to be able to watch Sonics games. Can't be any worse than the Sixers games I'll get on local tv.

I just really liked the way he carried himself. " Obviously, we all know this isn't true, but after watching Kenner League, reading about Vegas Summer League, and seeing Jeff and the guys play a few times in Yates, it did seem like Jeff was struggling with his outside jumper. I don't blame them for this conclusion after one practice -- I don't doubt he had some issues -- but I'm confident he'll come around.

It's a faster game and the line is way deeper. He was never automatic in college, either. It'll take a few summers and then he'll start dominating for sure.

Knowing the Sonics are leading tempo free efficiency geekheads, this would be a great place to post statistical updates on Jeff's performances as well, if for no other reason than knowing there is one place they are compiled.

Great thread. It will be hard to get info on Jeff in Philadelphia papers. I am now a Sonics fan. The last time I rooted for a team other than my Sixers was the Charlotte Hornets with Alonzo Mourning and Larry Johnson.

Georgetown Club of Northern California already has sent out invites (via facebook) and begun initially planning of the Golden State - Supersonics match up on February 26th.
As a note to others, the Warriors were really receptive to the club hosting an event at the arena, including sitting court side for shoot around, use of a room for a pregame social and group discounted seats. I am willing to bet other teams will be similarly accommodating if the other local crews want to organize similar activities.

I'm trying to convince Girlfriend of Coast2Coast to go to the Sonics game(s) in Seattle over Turkey Day weekend ... wish me luck. Hey So Cal Hoyas - any interest in getting a group together for the Lakers-Sonics on 11/27, or Clipps-Sonics on 11/4? I'd be in for either of those games. Sounds like Jeff is fitting right in with his new team and his new role. If he stays healthy (and there's no indication he won't) he could be a pretty awesome pro. But of course, we all knew that
