This was posted on their board and I was looking for some help in responding to these jackasses. "Many on this board treasured the Georgetown-Syracuse rivalry. Those games were highlights of many seasons and many of us look back on them with fond memories. I think I speak for many when I say we are very sorry that it has ended. What you fail to grasp is that the rivalry is already over. And we didn't end it. You did. Our program is at or above the level it was when our programs dominated the BE and our games were a fixture on national television. You guys dropped the ball on this. And it wasn't just for a year or two. Answer these questions for me. When is the last time you were a top ten team? A top 20 team? When is the last time you beat anyone of note out of conference? When is the last time you made the Final Four? The Sweet Sixteen? When is the last time you won an NCAA game period? When is the last time you signed a HS AA? When is the last time you had a sell out crowd? I am sorry you guys fell asleep at the switch. I am sorry Big John retired. He was a good man. And I am sorry the rivalry is over. I really am." syracuse.rivals.com/showmsg.asp?fid=1369&mid=46566400&sid=&tid=46561909&style=1

007, stop letting this get to you. I don't care what the Cuse fans think of the GU program. I just want the Hoyas to beat them.

Let them continue with the "rivalry is over" mindset. Let them lull themselves into that sense of security that will be the "seed of their own destruction".
They have not watched every GU game like we have. They do not understand what we really are able to accomplish.
Ssshhhhh...let them go to sleep...shhhh

I know I'm gonna get murdered for this...
...but they're right.
And they've been right on every account for a very, very long time.
The only thing they've been wrong on is our team is bad, and that attitude is about to change.

Right on every account? There may be some truth in that quote I provided in this thread because the admin did fail us for a while but if you have read all of the stuff posted over on that board over the past few days and think they have been right on every account than I have 0 respect for you as a Georgetown fan.
They have said some downright insane things and are the biggest pieces of crap I have encountered. I hope cuse fails in everything and their program goes down the drain. Orange pieces of S#$%!!!

They've been on top and won.. But ask them how long it took Jim Boeheim to win a national championship and ask them the last time they won the BET. If they want to talk let them it doesn't matter. They haven't seen us. It might not have been the hottest rivalry but don't worry Georgetown will come to play.

I agree, we can't foist a rivalry upon Syracuse. We have to earn our place back on top, then Syracuse will be plenty geared up for this game. For our purposes, let them not care about us. It is pathetic for us to see a rivalry when they don't. The goal is to make them care about us, and I think we are on the road to doing that. Let's face it, in a couple of years a kid deciding between Georgetown and Syracuse is not going to have to think hard. Do you want to play in East BF New York and get a mediocre education for a coach that is going to retire at any moment? Or would you rather play for one of the most dynamic young coaches in basketball, in the nation's capital, in a pro arena that will soon be regularly sold out now that they've stopped selling more than 12,000 seats, and get a top notch education while you're at it? Duh. But as of now, they are on top and we have to deal with it. For now.

I don't think you can blame the "admin" (which I hope you mean the Georgetown administration as having blame, nor can you say that if they let fans down "for a while" that things have suddenly changed. The program is always bigger than a coach or a player. There are a lot of pieces to the puzzle of the last ten years of Hoya Basketball.

I agree, and Im sure they are still letting us down. That's why we need to make sure that more is still done than just hiring a coach.

As far as I'm concerned it doesn't have to be a rivalry. I just want GU in a position to beat the Cuse on a regular basis. And the Hoyas have never been that far off from doing so. What Syracuse fans want to ignore is that before Carmello arrived Esherick OWNED Boeheim in terms of wins and losses. That wasn't 20 years ago, that was three. And if Esherick could do that I'm sure JT3 will be able to handle himself when coaching against Boeheim. It may take one more season but I can wait. Oh...and don't tell the Syracuse fans but once hakim Warrick is gone they will be a barely above average Big East team. No one Cuse has recruited post-Carmello has demonstatred that they will be a special type of player. Boeheim has been going through a special era in which three of his best players ever (Carmello, Hakim, McNamara) were all on the same team. That special run is almost over. And the former DC Assault assistant coach is no longer around to get a Carmello-like player for Boeheim.

Their best players will likely be Edelin, McNamara, Pace, and Devendorf. Of course, all are ideally guards. So they'll trot out this crew and Daryl Watkins and Dayshaun Wright. That doesn't scare me as much as a balanced team.

Let them assume we are nothing. Let them assume we are weak...let them look past their assured destruction of our boys, and onto their next game...let them get drunk on their bravado, and most definitely, let them contribute orange juice to my vodka.
