Funniest moment of the evening for me so far:
They have Rudy Gay mic'd up. He's shown sitting around after the first three picks saying to his crew at his table "Oh man, this doesn't look good" and putting his head in his hands. Yeah, "falling" to 7, 8, or 9 is going to be SOOOOOO bad for your career, let alone your bank account. Jerk.
Maybe if you'd actually busted your ass a little, Rudy, you would have gone higher. Especially if you're as "talented" as everyone makes you out to be.

Two things I've got to comment on
1. Any doubt that Jay Wright will be the "new" Coach K in eyes of media?? WTF is the hype about? Good recruiter--methods questionable, but good recruiter, nice coach but Nova didn't win a damn thing in their "special year" this past year. They got torched in Minneapolis Regional and peaked in late February as a team. Wright's got to do more then that to get the hype.
2. As for this Randy Foye is the "Best possible player 2 years down the road"--again WTF are people watching?? Nice player, but guess I missed the "greatness" and just because someone is built like Dwayne Wade, doesn't mean they will be him. This Draft is okay--but it's not strong and there are no dominant players in this Draft--complimentary and good role players, but no dominant players--hell the best potential I've seen is in the kid from Senegal and I'd take a chance on him over some of these guys, but all I can say is it's Nova world now and the hype is beyond odd--it's disturbing. And this comes from someone who loved Foye as a college player and thinks he's a nice player for NBA but off the bench!!

Shane Battier for Rudy Gay?
Oh yeah, that has "draft day blunder" written all over it.

What's with all these trades? You need a flow-chart to keep track of where everybody is.
1 - Telfair and Theo Ratliff from Portland to Boston for Randy Foye, Raef Lafrentz and Dan Dickau. Finally Lafrentz's MORONIC MAX CONTRACT is off the books in Boston. If the Blazers can dump Miles, they're WELL on their way towards rebuilding their image. 2 - Now Foye goes from Portland to Minnesota for Brandon Roy? Um... ok. 3 - Ty Thomas from Portland to Chicago for Lemarcus Aldridge seems decent. 4 - Gay from Houston to Memphis for Battier? WHY would Houston do this? I'm not a Gay fan by any means, but that team needs to get athletic. 5 - Stupid Billy King drafts an immensely athletic forward on behalf of the Bulls so he can draft at 16? And he wants RODNEY CARNEY? C'mon... this guy was an undersized forward in college, where's he gonna play in the pros? The two? No way. The three? Eh... can he guard the elite 3's in the East? So confused. What a moron King is. FREE ILLY!!!
I wonder if J.J. Redickulously Gay knows where all the good bars are in Orlando already...

This is especially for RDF: Is it just me, or are the rest of you equally as disturbed that (1) they only throw it to Duke Vitale when they need comment on an ACC player, and (2) Dukie V. - on national television - begged J.J. Redickoulously Gay for tickets since he "gave him so much publicity" ESPN - if they hadn't already - just jumped the shark. Forever.

Dick Vitale doesn't know a thing about CBB, why he's part of the NBA Draft is beyond me?? He's clueless and an embarrassment.

Billy King has sent hint out--AI is gone--(for the love of Hoops God PLEASE) or else he's going to his "mad scientist" view of creating a Phoenix like atmosphere with only problem being Iguodala is not a scorer/shooter and neither is Carney--so it's basically a hot mess and will be--but as long as AI departs I could give a flying F what happens to Sixers--screw them and screw King and Snider!

More ESPN bashing.
This coverage is awful. Audio going in and out, they can't find their reporter interviewing Granger in the audience, the video of Larry Bird won't come in, Patrick is having a conversation with Stern at the podium via the PA system... talk about amateur hour. This is such a clusterf--k compared to their coverage of the NFL draft.

This is such a clusterf--k compared to their coverage of the NFL draft. Amateur Hour summed up with two words: STUART SCOTT--anyway to tie him to a merry go round with Billy King ala the "Classic" Sheen/Estevez movie Men At Work??? For those who don't know--they tie officers together in a compromising position in their underwear and leave them for dead--or humiliation--of course being seen with either Scott or King is enough humiliation for anyone.

The New York Knickerbockers spend a 20th pick on a 9 ppg forward whose claim to fame is the "NIT most valuable player?"
Isiah Thomas' coaching career is on the clock...

Renaldo Balkman?! WHAT?!? Snakes on a Plane?!?! LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Funniest comment I've read in a while and why do I expect Zeke to say "He was a two time NIT winner and plays well at the Garden.......". Zeke--a true clown. As for the drafting of Rondo--Sixers were very high on this guy--so I'm wondering if he's going to Philly in a deal for AI with Wally to 3rd team and rumors of West and Draft Picks going to Sixers too--no Jefferson or Green from what latest is being reported.

Nets take Marcus Williams and Josh Boone back to back. Next pick, I say they go Ed Nelson.

Oh those wacky Knicks. See what they did there? You thought they'd draft a talented player but they go against the grain and draft Brian Grant's mini-me. Crafty.
Celts deal Sczerbiak and get Iverson to start Telfair, Iverson, Pierce, Gomes, and Perkins? Could happen and that's not a bad team. Telfair looks to be developing well and so does Gomes. They can do "center by committee" with those other four and do well in the East.
Just free AI already.

For all the claims that ESPN has officially jumped the shark, the definitive proof: The Kyle Lowry highlight reel included a three-pointer.

anyone else reading JJ's live chat on ESPN - "I think I have a great competitive spirit, a desire to win and a strong will." And I can conquer the world!

Speaking of Redick--how about Vitale's "I've NEVER heard a kid get abused as much as this guy"---really, ever seen Redick get racial slurs, bananas, oranges, monkey signs, etc.... like Ewing and Iverson did? Friggin clown that is Vitale!!!
